Dear John and Marina Calibur,

First off, I want to thank you for being there for me. You have been a huge support ever since you found out I was pregnant, and that my parents disowned me because of that fact. You took me in, became a very important part of my life, and I don't know what I'd do without you... But even though I want to stay with you and be a part of raising my newborn daughter, I can't.

I'm only 16 years old, and I still need to finish school. Unfortunately, I'm being forced to go to a foster home, and leave my baby behind. I'm trusting you to take care of her, and give her the love and protection she deserves. I'm not fit to be a mother, because of the circumstances in which she was born in. Her birth father left me for another girl, leaving me to fend for myself.

I know you already have Alex, but I also know that you wanted to have another child and can no longer conceive. I'm putting all of my trust and faith into you, so I hope you won't let me down... I hope we meet again, and I hope to see my daughter in the future. This is farewell, but not goodbye.

Dear Ariana Groves,

I had just found your letter to my parents, and I wanted to write to you as soon as possible. My name is Nayru Calibur, and I am 19 years old. I was born and raised in Snowbelle City, Kalos, and I'm currently on my way to the Orre Region to become a Pokemon Trainer while aiming to become a well known singer. I suppose I should tell you a bit more about myself. I hope you don't mind reading a letter that may become a bit too long...

I had been raised around Pokemon my whole life, and I've come to love mainly Fire, Ice, Grass, Flying and Fairy types. Both my parents were well known Pokemon Trainers, having worked together to achieve their dreams. After I was born, they retired in order to raise me. My mother had a Togekiss, one that I had become attached to since I was a baby, and I remember how fun it was sitting on his back as he showed me the outside world while up in the sky. That was how I developed my love for flying, but also how I overcame my fear of heights.

I had a hard time getting along with other kids my age, since not everyone saw Pokemon as an equal like I did. I hardly had any friends, and I still don't. However, that doesn't stop me from trying to interact with others. I suppose you can say I'm very timid at times, and that I'm incredibly gullible. But my mother once told me that I try so hard to find the good in everyone, and that she admired me for it. I also was very close to my older brother, Alexander, who was training to be in the army for as long as I could remember. He loved Pokemon just as much as I did, and he taught me how to work with them and befriend them. Alex was not just my brother... He was my role model, and my best friend.

While in school, I discovered my talent for singing and playing the piano, and so I took private lessons to develop my voice even further. I normally sing to release or express my emotions, but now I also want to pursue it as a career. Music has become my passion, and my escape from reality. My parents were so proud of me for wanting to become a Trainer and a singer. I wanted to make them even more proud of being their daughter.

Everything was slowly falling into place... But a few years later, my parents were victims of a car accident, leaving no survivors. I was devastated, and I hadn't eaten nor slept in days after their death. A week had passed, and I was in a deep depression; I even considered suicide... My brother was the one and only person that snapped me out of it, and I developed the resolve to keep living. But not just for myself, but for my brother as well, for he was the only family I had left.

A year or two later, Alex had decided to tell me something that mom and dad never had a chance to tell me. I was adopted... It shocked me to the core, and it left me wondering why my parents never said anything about it. He told me about you, and how young you were when I was born. I remember tears rolling down my face as I realized how much you cared about me, and that you only wanted what was best for me. I also realized that my parents loved me as well, like I was their real daughter. I knew right then and there that I was blessed, despite losing my parents, and I never doubted nor questioned their decision to adopt me as their own.

Years passed, and I turned 17 a few days before Alex had to leave overseas to join the army. It was so hard, watching him leave... But I saw him off with a smile on my face, and wished him luck on his journey. Two weeks after he departed, I received a phone call from his mentor, who had been there for him since our parents died. He told me that Alex had been reported MIA, which left me in complete and utter shock. Not only did I lose my parents, I lost my older brother, too...

My depression had kicked in again, and I refused to leave the house except for the occasional shopping trip for three years. That was when I found your letter, and that made my resolve return, only much stronger than before. Even though I faced these losses, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have realized how loved I was, and that I have so much to live for. Thank you for bringing me into this world, and for making me a part of the Calibur family. I hope to meet you someday, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
