Caspian was born in Mossdeep City, the city of space and all of that jazz, the son of a scientist at the space station and a psychic. Yep, such a winning combination that's for sure. Now before he will comment on how stupid that sounds, he will gladly reassure people that he cannot read their minds, or lift cars because that's what all people assume psychics could do. Well sure, he couldn't keep a secret from his mother, because she would get these feelings when someone was lying, called it her 'motherly senses'. Pffft, yeah okay.
[break][break]
Well now back to Caspian, during his time growing up, the teachers had a tough time trying to get the guy to pay attention, mainly because he was either spacing out by staring out the window. This was because Caspian was smarter then the average kid, and sure it took a couple years of him barely cruising by because it took too much effort to write out his workings and such, especially since they were already in his head. Not even his meetings with the school therapist did any good, but that was mostly because Cass spent a nice chunk of the time trying to light a smoke in the office and kick his feet on the desk, with the occasional remark on the whole career choice.
[break][break]
Caspian was smarter then the rest of his students, and deemed most things not worth the effort so that is how he lived. Uninterested in putting his intellect towards anything productive and only going for the bare minimum, that was until an man bumped into him during one of his moments of playing hooky at his first year of college. He claimed to be a recruiter of a certain group and kept a rather close eye on Caspian, and his records. Saying stuff along the lines of he knew that Cass was a genius, and was wasting his time around these parts, that there was a group that would most gladly appreciate someone with his knowledge. Now this is where Caspian laughed saying that the man was crazy and barking up the wrong tree, but that is when the recruiter pulled out several scrunched up papers, filled with scribbled formulas and equations. Stuff that Caspian worked on whenever he got really bored before tearing up and disposed of.
[break][break]
That had his attention, because that stuff should have been torn up and used as a terrible light. So Caspian went along with this guy, still not really believing half of it, deeming it bullshit. The only thing was that the recruiter asked for Cass to get his hands on some of his father's research, which was easy enough, the only thing is that it was mostly debunked theories if he remembered correctly.
[break][break]
So with them in tow, he took the first boat to the Orre region where he joined up with the group calling themselves Cipher. With his smarts he was put on the science and research department, and with his terrible unmotivated nature he was dubbed the Cipher Slacker by several other members of the team, they even question how the hell he got the position on the team. He was in it so he wasn't bored out of his mind, that was about it. The genius didn't care about their goals, just so long as he wasn't in that island no more.
