Pokemon on mdh are divided into 3 specialty ranks, these ranks denote things such as rarity and difficulty to acquire and what their breeding frequency is. Generally speaking pokemon do not jump ranks and will stay in the same one for as long as the site is running. The only exception to this is if we see any pokemon that have become over populated on site they may be raised a rank to help decrease their numbers a bit before returning to their normal ranks.

Generally speaking all pokemon evolve the same way they always do, once they hit a set level all they have to do is level up and they evolve. You may post pone if you wish but there are also a few pokemon that evolve through special means. This post goes into detail on how to make that work.

Special cases
[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"] Certain items or venues of evolution simply aren't available on MDH due to Orre's terrain and location compared to the other regions. Due to this the pokemon in the region have adapted to react to other things to cause an evolution just like in the other regions.[break][break]If a special case evolution is not listed here then that means it works the same on site as it does in the games, this only lists ones that had to be modified for the site.[break][break] Eevee --> Leafeon- Use a leaf stone on an eevee
Eevee --> Glaceon- Use a water stone on an eevee
- Water stones can still produce vaproeons, it's simply a bit of a toss up as to which you get in site lore but you are free to OOCly pick which one you want it to be for your character however you like.
Magneton --> Magnezone- Use a thunder stone on Magneton
Feebas --> Milotic- Trade a feebas with another member while it is holding a Prism scale
- Due to the lack of beauty stats on MDH beauty is not a valid form of evolution for milotic

Friendship/Happiness evolution

Pokemon that evolve via friendship/Happiness are done by having 4 complete pages of RP where the character has had the pokemon present and is bonding with them. This can include mod threads though the pokemon does not have to be battling in the mod thread, it can simply be observing the battle with its owner and it will count so long as the character is interacting with the pokemon while it is present for those 4 pages. Once you have your 4 pages take the pokemon into a mod thread and have it battle something, when a mod rolls your next spawn they will also announce that your pokemon has evolved.

Please keep track of your 4 pages, and when you go into your mod thread with the intent to battle and evolve the pokemon please make sure to link them in your ooc/battle recap information so that we can make a quick check over that you have indeed completed 4 pages with that pokemon.

Write it in your mod thread that its day/night/rainy/sunny whatever you need for the pokemon to evolve. That's it. No special hoops to go through for this one.

Trade evolutions

Reply to the pokemon Bazaar stating who you are trading the pokemon with using the evolution trade form, the pokemon will be noted as traded by a staff member and then also be noted as being traded right back in the same post so you don't have to go through the hoop of posting a trade back afterwards. If you do not want it traded back for IC reason use the regular trade form.

While you must post in the Bazaar about the trade for the record book you are more than welcome to also thread out the trade, just don't forget to post in the Bazaar when you do.

On MDH pokemon abilities don't generally have any effect outside of battle unless otherwise stated by the ability description. They are also unable to have their hidden abilities on site. For the most part abilities are the same on site as they are in the games and for sake of ease we've listed a few special case abilities bellow that may need extra clarification.

Battle abilities

Battle abilities are the abilities the pokemon get in the games. These abilities only active while the pokemon is engaged in battle of some kind and may not be used outside of it unless specifically stated by that pokemon's ability, in which case the ability will be listed below and the extra effects clarified. Again, we do not allow hidden abilities on site at this time.

Other abilities

Looking into the pokemon world a lot of pokemon have abilities beyond just their battle ability and moves, for example ninetales have been seen making illusions, are capable of mind control and said to live up to 1,000 years. These abilities do exist on MDH and are the abilities that may be seen outside of battle, however we're going to ask you be smart about it. Your character's ninetales should not be going around controlling everyone in sight and shouldn't be making illusions in every thread you make with them. If anything these abilities should be used for added flavor to IC plots. To go with this, these abilities are not applicable in battle scenarios whatsoever, the only special circumstance may possibly be plot battles where members want certain things to happen but this must be discussed with either nevermore or endless first.

If at any point we feel this is being abused in the wrong sort of way we'll nix them all together, you shouldn't be afraid to use them just keep in mind that is your character can't be god moddy and power playing neither should their pokemon.

Ability clarification list
[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"] {Stat effecting abilities} {Pick up} - Pick up may only be triggered in mod threads after a trainer or wild pokemon battle. It will not be triggered in posts where you have found items or starting posts.
- You the player will be responsible for rolling for pick up, mods will not do it for you.
- at the end of your post you will label a dice roll as a pick up roll, then click the dice button in the reply menu. It will automatically be set to 1-10 range which is what you will roll.
- You may not edit your post if there is a roll in it, if we see an edited marker in the post before we have awarded the item it will be considered null and you will not receive a bonus item that turn no matter what you roll. This also means you may not edit one in after you post because that would cause an edited marker so be sure you do it. (This is to prevent people from rolling, getting a bad roll, editing out a roll and editing in a new one)
- Pick up will trigger on a 1 in 10 basis, meaning if your dice roll is a 1 you will receive an item as part of your previous round rewards on top of whatever levels/capture etc you received. This item will be randomized like other item spawns.
