Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

Finally! Shade from the sun! Alastair leaned against the inside of part of the ship, August in her pokeball. Honestly, the odds of finding a ship in the middle of absolute no where was surprising enough, but the ship was still intact. The side ladders built to allow them to wander. The overturned ship's hull had a wide opening in it. So that was where Alastair entered. That... and he could see a dust storm outside, coming for them. He moved deeper into the ship, releasing Potato for company. The dog happily barked and got sniffing, exploring the place with Alastair. This place had a creepy feel. It wasn't even overturned much, just slightly on its side. A giant rock mass had seemed to catch it... maybe some of the rooms could be explored.

The man came out of no where saying, "IT ISN'T SAFE HERE FOR YOU." Alastair jumped about a foot in the air and even Potato gave a surprised bark. Alastair stared at the Ranger and blinked. Not safe?
"Then what are you going here?" he asked. The Ranger crossed his arms.
"To protect civilians!"
"Thanks but no thanks, I'm just here to explore." Alastair pointed towards the outside. "Also there is a storm coming, so me leaving isn't the best of ideas." The Ranger seemed to consider this.
"If you can beat me in battle then you are allowed to wander until the storm passes!"
Alastair frowned. "I didn't realize I needed a hall pass."
The Ranger sent out a Zubat and Alastair nodded to Potato. The dog jumped forward and barked.
"Howl then Tackle!" Alastair ordered, Potato letting out a Howl before charging, tackling the bat out of the air. The Zubat recoiled with a Leech Life, and that was how the battle had begun.
The dog Tackled and the bat slowly drained its energy back bite by bite. Eventually, the Ranger called for another move.
"Supersonic!"
"Potato! Dodge!" The dog tried, but to no avail. The move hit and Potato stumbled in confusion, then charged for a Tackle. Amazingly, he had hit the bat. The Zubat tried to use Astonish in response, but failed in the attack. Potato was still stumbling, still confused. Potato ran into a wall, hurting himself. The Zubat responded with another Supersonic, but sadly, Potato had not broken out of the confusion yet. The dog made another wild charge for an attack, slamming into the bat once more. The Zubat fainted and Alastair recalled Potato shortly before letting the dog back out. There... he was fine now.
The Ranger crossed his arms again and sighed. "Fine. You're good to go."
Alastair nodded and left the guy alone, Potato following happily. He looked a little beat up but he was still trotting along, as happy can be.

It wasn't long until Potato began to go nuts, digging in some debris. Alastair gave him a look and watched, almost intrigued as the puppy dug through the trash, tail wagging as fast as possible. Eventually, the Poochyena ran over to Alastair, holding something in his mouth. The man bent down and let the dog drop the item into his hand. Ew. It was covered in saliva, but it was a pokeball. Well would you look at that! Alastair wiped the Pokeball off, and then his hand, putting the item into the bag.
"Nice job, Potato!" he said, scratching the dog's ears. Potato gave a happy bark then darted off a few feet, looking back at Alastair, waiting for him to catch up. Alastair stood and sighed. "Alright, alright! I'm coming." He heard the ship creak. Sounded like the dust storm was here.

Alastair smiled. Hey! It was a Beldum! He head heard rumors about that type of Pokemon, about how they float. That and he was a sucker for anything that looked adorable like this guy. Potato seemed to sense Alastair's joy and wagged his tail happily before giving a bark at the Beldum. The Pokemon faced them and made a confused noise. Not long after, Potato had tackled the Beldum, sending the Pokemon floating back. The Beldum shook itself out and came in for a Take Down, the move using so much force that the Beldum injured itself slightly. Alastair knew they could do one more tackle, and then have to stop it from using Take Down again.
"Tackle one more time, then dodge, Potato!" he said, the little dog charging forward and tackling the Beldum hard. The Pokemon was sent back again and faltered in its levitation, then charged. Potato moved out of the way, preventing the Pokemon from hurting itself.
Alastair threw the pokeball and watched it fall to the ground, rocking back and forth.

Yes! Alastair smiled. Great! He caught the Beldum! He scooped the pokeball into his hand. He already had a name. Leap. He put the pokeball on his belt and scratched Potato's ears. The dog let out a happy whine, trotting away from Alastair to lead the way. They came across a set of stairs before long. The cargo hold was pretty barren anyway. Alastair pushed the old, rusted door further open, kicking a rock over to hold it open for others. The rock reached out. Alastair yelped and jumped back, Potato already on it before he could say anything. The puppy tackled the rock down, the Geodude rolling over to face them. The Geodude charged with its own Tackle, slamming into the dog. Potato skidded backwards on his paws and whined in pain. He wiped his muzzle off and gave a Howl, the sound echoing across the ship before he charged, hitting the rock harder than before. The Geodude skidded backwards and coiled into itself, using Defense Curl. Then it charged. Potato jumped out of the way and slammed into the rock again, then he kicked up some sand that had found its way to the bottom of the cargo hold. The Geodude gave a shout and rubbed at its eyes, coming over for another Tackle, but it missed by a few inches. Potato gave one last tackle, slamming the rock into a door. The Pokemon went still, fainted.
There, the door stop was a door stop now. Potato wagged his tail fast and looked up at Alastair. "Good boy!" he said, rubbing the dog's ears. he got up and went up the stairs, stopping once he got four up. Potato whined and timidly stepped on a step. Slowly going up one at a time. Alastair kept a little ahead of him, offering encouraging calls. Every time he did, Potato wagged his tail and then let out a whine, complaining about how big the stairs were to him. Eventually, the dog was able to get up both flights. There. The first floor of the ship. Alastair wondered what was in here... treasures maybe? Equally good, some Pokemon could be hiding in boxes and the like. Well... there was only one way to find out!
