Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

He wanted nothing more than to hide, far from the prying eyes of those who questioned his work, who questioned his motives, and who questioned his person.
Finn thought about that as he poked around the ruins of the laboratory. The locals had told him this was a frightful place. The sort of place that is home to ghosts, monsters and demons. Where naughty children are spirited away.
The young Trainer didn't put much stock into that. Old wives' tales, and stories to make children fall in line whenever they played games they ought not to. Perhaps also to convince them that broccoli was part of a healthy life style.
He clacked his tongue. It was all absurd. Where was the meaning in it all? But then, the pursuit of meaning was meaningless of itself, much like thinking about thinking. Perhaps even writing about writing, though there were still some lessons to be learned in that. He was─
Absolutely not bothered by anything! This was an adventure! Shuppet floated by his side, giving him a satisfied look. Finn wasn't sure what she was satisfied about, but for some reason, he didn't feel like thinking about it either.
"Whaddya think we'll find here, Shup?"
The Ghost Pokémon gave a look. Finn could tell absolutely nothing from its expression.
The girl combined cheerful and annoying to the usual recipe. Finn clacked his tongue, and his Shuppet made a queer kind of sound, and then Finn could only smile at the challenge.
He quite liked Sableyes. Would be one of those Pokémon he desired to have, but knew he would not. Maybe some day in the future, Finn thought.
"Shup, eighty-six," Finn declared.
The Shuppet unleashed a screeching sound, forcing Evelyn and her Sableye to both shudder.
Evelyn clasped her hands to her sides and mumbled some command only the Sableye could hear, or cared to hear.
Shuppet didn't miss much of a beat, following up her attack immediately by slamming Sableye. Not that the Knock Off effected the removal of an item, but it was a solid move against Sableyes.
The Screech made sure it was a strong move, and Sableye recoiled from the damage.
It shot the duo a mean look, as if there was any chance they'd opt to flee. Since there was none, Sableye lunged forward, sending Shuppet spiraling away after a Zen Headbutt.
Shuppet shot a look at Finn, who nodded. Eight-six again.
The second time around, the Sableye did not get up again. His defence had become pitiful, and Shuppet's offence was as formidable as ever, Finn reasoned.
There was something dissatisfying about Pokéballs, Finn thought as he scooped down to pick up a stray ball off the floor.
He held it up, inspecting the ball. In a way, he could consider the ball as a metaphor for life. Like Pokémon, each of them were trapped in a tiny bubble, hoping to find some meaning to their life.
But the pursuit of such meaning was meaningless of itself! Like a Pokémon was confined to a ball, so were they confined to meaninglessness of life: if one ever should attempt to discover the true meaning of life, they would find that their life's meaning itself had become to find the meaning.
If one were then to reject that conclusion, then they would reject life's meaning and remain on a pursuit for a mirage that did not exist. If one accepted such meaning, they would have completed the meaning of their life and would return to futility once more.
A dangerous and obvious trap.
Finn stared at Shuppet.
"... Aren't you eating those?" he asked.
The Shuppet stared at him.
Finn shook his head. He did not understand anything about his partner, much as he didn't understand anything else either.
So it was a good thing that none of that mattered and he was on an adventure! Finn grinned despite himself.
"Whatever, then, Shup. Let's get a move on." Level 12 Shuppet (1/5) Insomnia Knock Off // Screech // Nightshade // Spite
Rickety and old, the perfect place to hide out from others. Finn wondered why it still remained abandoned: it looked like the perfect spot for people like him to gather.
But then, he supposed, gathering together was the very antithesis of someone who wanted to be left alone. A community of people who wanted to be left alone was an absurd contradiction.
Finn chuckled. In a way, it'd be a fun contradiction, though. A metallic sound interrupted his thoughts, and Finn squatted.
A sort of metal coating lay on the floor. How many people had come here only to abandon their valuables?
"Place isn't even that scary, Shup," Finn said, unsure if he felt that way for real. "Want to hang out for a bit longer here, or get on the way?"
From lost items to lost Pokémon, this place truly had it all. Finn wondered, briefly, if he might then encounter something he wanted to encounter. Another Shuppet, perhaps, or maybe he could finally find those other Ghost Pokémon he'd heard much about.
It wasn't that Finn was crazy about ghosts, but he did admit he had a soft spot for them.
"Shup, I think... eighty-six works fine," Finn said, eyeing the butterfly before them. He wanted Pokémon that, in their way, were impressive. This was not one of them.
Shuppet Screeched again, and followed up her action with a Knock Off, even as the Beautifly tried to absorb Shuppet's essence.
Shuppet didn't much mind, though; she knew full well it took greater Pokémon than Beautifly to absorb her whole.
The second round was much like the first, with Beautifly going first to absorb some of Shuppet's energy, and Shuppet delivering a devastating combination attack.
The Beautifly fluttered to the floor.
"Let's go." Finn walked past the fallen Pokémon. Level 12 Shuppet (2/5)
