Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

Liam liked being alone. Usually preferred to be alone. No one to bother him, no one to interrupt him. No chance of losing his temper and hurting someone. Which he'd rather avoid in all fairness. His strength was rather monstrous and he hated it. So he'd rather just stick with his Pokemon, or Pokemon he came across, and not have to worry about people. In other words -- he really was praying that he didn't come across any trainers. He didn't want to deal with them. So with Andrea slithering around the ground at his side, he traveled through the desert.
He really was just aimlessly wandering around, but he did want to search for Pokemon out here. He didn't have many Pokeballs so he didn't know how long he'd be able to stay out here, but it would be fine. He had a couple of potions in case he had to heal Andrea or Static. Though honestly it would probably be mainly Andrea, as, well, Static was more or less a baby, and that just seemed like some strange form of child abuse.

Liam walked with Andrea at his side, more or less just letting her lead the way around. He wasn't here for anything in particular after all, and nothing was really happening yet. Besides what a better way to search for Pokemon than letting a Pokemon search for them? It was pretty quiet in this canyon though, and as he whistled to help fill the silence, it echoed between the canyon walls. He got the impression that Andrea might have been more than a little annoyed but she didn't express anything about it, nor scratch him like she tended to do when he annoyed her.
As they walked, he saw a glimmer of light off to the side. Breaking off from their duo, he walked over to it. The Zangoose halted and waited for him curiously. When he approached a little clutter of rocks beside the canyon wall, he found something that was clearly not a regular stone. Picking it up carefully he turned it around in his hand. It was a golden color that glinted in the sunlight. A Shiny Stone. Now how did that get here? Well he wasn't about to just discard it. If nothing else maybe he could sell it for a bit of cash later. He'd probably keep it though in case he ever needed one. Slipping it into his bag he got back up, dusting off his pants and heading back to Andrea.

When he approached Andrea, the Zangoose didn't waste any time in pointing out a different outcropping of rocks nearby that seemed to also shimmer when the sunlight hit it. Unable to contain his curiosity, the blonde approached them with his Zangoose and knelt down beside the rocks, moving a few aside as he pulled out two items this time. A strange ball that, other than the yellow marking on the top, looked like a regular Pokeball. He believed it was a repeat ball. That could come in handy later on, so he slipped that into his bag with the rest of his Pokeballs. The other item was another stone, this one a deep blue color. A water stone. Well he didn't have any water pokemon at all at the moment, but one day he probably would, so he'd take it as well.
"We're finding items already. I guess this was a base in the past. They abandoned a lot of items around here." he commented, and Andrea nodded in agreement. They could probably keep finding a bit of good loot around here if they searched more. Maybe head into the abandoned base later and see what they could scavenge up.

Dusting his pants back off, Liam and Andrea scanned the area once more. They didn't find any more immediate items but that didn't mean there wouldn't be any around elsewhere. What they did find though was something that Liam would rather not have found. Another person. And not just any other person, oh no. A ruffian from the looks of it. For a while the duo just ignored him, noticing him stalking from the distance. It wasn't like Liam was concerned about him. If he came up to them he could easily take care of him, whether by himself or with Andrea. So neither seemed really concerned when a voice spoke up behind them.
"Hey, kid, I saw you find those items. Hand them over and ya won' get hurt." was the threat that the pair heard. Liam stopped in his tracks and shot a death glare over his shoulder. The man didn't seem all that scary. Not even close. Just some punk. He wasn't even worth either of their time but he didn't seem like he was going to back down, brandishing a knife as if that was going to stop them. "Oi, Andrea, take care of him." he said flatly.
When the Zangoose moved forward, the ruffian jumped and quickly threw a Pokeball, calling out a Spearow. A smirk appeared over Liam's face. "A bird? Don't you know mongoose eat birds?" The Spearow used a Growl on Andrea, but she wasn't having any of it, quickly lunging forward and using a Quick Attack. "Andrea, Leer and then quickly Scratch it. That should take care of it."
The Zangoose quickly carried out his orders, leering to lower the Spearow's defense and then Scratching at it, taking out the rest of its health before it could react. As the ruffian quickly recalled back his bird Pokemon, Liam gave him one last glare before walking off. That should be the last he saw of him.

Liam was really positive that he wasn't going to see that man again. That that would be the last of it. He wouldn't have to worry about being bothered by anyone else. Well, that was what he had thought at least. After a couple of steps he heard a different, more meek and quiet, voice. "U-uhm, e-excuse me..." it mumbled. With a sigh the blonde turned around to see a little kid with green hair. Well, he knew he wasn't going to cause him too much trouble like the last guy at least. "U-uhm, I need help..." The kid began by explaining that he was lost, and he had asked the other guy that had just ran off for help but he had rudely shoved the boy and told him to get lost -- but he was already lost, how could he get more lost, he asked. But when he saw Liam fight off the other guy he had known that he could trust him!
Liam let out a sigh at that. Usually people were afraid of him, particularly kids. But he wasn't a bad person, and he had a tender spot in his heart for children. So he pulled out his map and handed it to get kid, explaining how to get back to the nearest town and what to look for. He told him to keep his map, he could pick up a new one and he knew where to go. The boy, who introduced himself as Zack, thanked him happily and asked him if he would like to battle. Liam shrugged some and agreed to the fight.
The kid called out his only Pokemon, a Tyrogue. Andrea moved in front of Liam and the fight would begin. This kid's Pokemon at least seemed stronger than that creep's was. So at least the kid could handle himself. That was a relief, though he didn't show it. The battle began with Tyrogue tackling Andrea. After a bit of a stumble, the Zangoose recovered with a scratch, following up with a quick attack. The Tyrogue followed up with another tackle. The moves continued back and forth like this for a while, with Andrea throwing out scratches and quick attacks and the poor Tyrogue using the only available attack in its arsenal, the tackle.
As the battle wore on, the Tyrogue would eventually feint. Liam offered him a potion for the Tyrogue but the boy happily declined, using one of his own. After a brief exchange the two parted ways, the lost boy happily knowing which way to go. Liam just hoped that he would be able to find his way back without any problems.
