All she wanted was a Charmander. That was the only reason she had even bothered to come out to this stupid dusty canyon. So far all she had gotten was rude trainers who were probably doing something gosh darn illegal by trapping trainers out here while they were all on their lonesome. So, when she heard another voice behind her it was all she could do to stop herself from screaming externally as well as internally. "Excuse me miss, are you a trainer?" With a sigh that could only be described as extremely irritated, Ayane turned around. "Yes I'm a trainer. Let me guess, you're mad because I kicked the butt of your dad or something now? You wanna battle, fine, let's battle right now!" If she hadn't been so hasty in her declaration she would have noticed the herd of small children behind what was obviously a teacher.
In truth the woman had just wanted to ask Ayane if her students could take a look at her Pokemon but now, now it was on. It would look bad on her if she turned down such a direct challenge in front of her students. "Alright everyone, stand back so that I can show you how to properly conduct a Pokemon battle!" A sneasel released from its Pokeball didn't leave Ayane with a lot of options. Sure she could send out Flambé again but that wouldn't be fair to Cayenne. She promised to train them equally but... The sneasel looked a lot stronger than her Meditite, or at least like it had more experience. She wouldn't break a promise though, if it came down to it she could always just recall Cayenne and then send out Flambé afterwards.
"If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed Cayenne don't be afraid to tap out!" Squirting the Pokemon with a potion before the battle started so that he would be able to withstand more of the attacks she hoped that this wasn't a bad idea. "Don't forget to use Meditate! And then Bide!" It was the only moveset that they had but the teacher didn't need to know that. In fact, she didn't need to know anything about their strategy at all. Not that they really had much of one. The only thing she could count on was the Sneasel doing enough damage to make a OHKO possible for them. "You won't last long with that! If I can take you out before the Bide ends then you'll be in dire straights wont you? Children pay attention!"
It was then when the Sneasel started her assault on Cayenne and with each hit it was easy to tell that the level difference was a bit higher than Ayane would have liked. This was a bad bad idea, she should have just stuck to letting Flambé take care of it. "Don't give up, you can still do this Cayenne!" There was an obvious amount of struggle on the dual types face as he took attack after attack. "Cayenne let the Bide go!" It didn't matter if it wasn't enough to faint the Pokemon, she couldn't let him take anymore abuse from their opponent. And it wasn't enough. Sure they had done a decent amount of damage to it but she was still standing. If she hadn't used the potion on him then he would have long fainted.
Unable to afford the use of another Bide & Meditate combo she pulled out his Pokeball and tried to recall him. "Come on Cayenne, you can come back if you want and Flambé can take care of the rest." She didn't care that she had to use a second Pokemon against her opponent. All she cared about was making sure that her mistake wasn't going to cost her her Pokemon's health. Unfortunately though, Cayenne didn't see it that way. Sure his health was low but he wasn't about to let that matter to him. Instead of crossing his legs for another meditation and bide combo though he walked over to a large rock.
"Cayenne?" She wasn't sure at all what her Pokemon was doing. In fact no one really was. Until the Pokemon picked up the rock, hefting it above his head and turning towards the Sneasel. The logic of it being if he couldn't use his normal moveset then he would just have to try something else. "You're not supposed to throw rocks at your opponents Cayenne!" This was not at all how battles were supposed to go and her opponent knew it as well. It was dumb luck that the rock didn't hit her Sneasel dead on, instead sending it back with a glancing blow.
Ayane had to admit that the sneasel looked weaker now though and as Cayenne went to pick up another rock she wondered if she could interviene. There technically wasn't anything in the rules against her Pokemon using the rocks as a weapon. The sneasel wasn't having it though. Rushing towards the meditite with claws outstretched it was met in the face with yet another stone, this one close up instead of being thrown. Reeling back the Sneasel was set back on his back. Ayene silently prayed that it would be enough for her not to get back up. Gently the teacher scooped up her Pokemon and scowled at Ayane.
Panting and injured the Sneasel nor the teacher looked too pleased by the turn of events. "I'm sorry! He's still under training!" Scooping the dirty and tired Meditite up into her arms she realized that maybe this wasn't the best way she could have gone about this. "You need to learn to control your Pokemon better! Come on student's its time to go back to class!" Biting her lip gently she sat down and began to look her Pokemon over slowly, making sure that there were no lasting injuries to the small guy.
