Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

Being a police officer in training meant that it was absolutely vital that she worked on training her own team up. It also meant that she was responsible for making sure that all she had a well rounded team. So far she was doing pretty good in that aspect. Except for the fact that she was already on the hunt for another fire type Pokemon. Not that there was anything wrong with Flambé of course. She just wanted him to have a training buddy that wouldn't mind the heat. ...Not to mention it would be wicked cool to have a Charizard on her team eventually. Hearing the rumors that there were strange flaming butts hanging around in Eclo Canyon that was her first stop.
Really she should have been focusing on training more but her energy level had gone up tenfold on receiving another Pokemon. Cayenne even matched her aesthetic and if that wasn't fate then she had no idea what was! The Meditite's strange pink coloring had caught the attention of a couple people but she wasn't letting that get her off track. Neither of her Pokemon knew a lot of moves. In fact their pool was actually rather low. Which was why she was hoping that in addition to getting a new Pokemon she would be able to train them up some. Man if only her parents could see her now...
They'd probably be yelling at her for climbing on what appeared to be a somewhat loose looking rock outcropping. It felt sturdy enough to hold her weight and as long as Flambé didn't follow her out there it probably wouldn't fall. Probably.
Eyes on the prize of a charmander she barely noticed the fact that she had managed to knock loose some sort of rock. That was until the rock ended up inside her shoe. Knowing very well she couldn't continue on her hike with such a large thing poking at her foot she precariously sat down on the edge of the facing and dug around inside of the boot. Fingers closing around the strange feeling rock she wondered what it was exactly. After all, it didn't look like the rest of the rocks that had been kicked up by her moving around so much. Maybe this one was some sort of super special rock? Knowing it wasn't exactly logical she still shoved the knew aquisition into her bag pouch and stood back up. Just sitting around like that would never get her a new Pokemon after all.
Maybe if she took the rock into town after this was all over someone would know if it was special or not. After all, she wasn't some fancy scientist. Ayane was just here to bring justice and peace to the Orre Region! Science stuff was supposed to be for lap technicians and the people that they sent the hardcore evidence to. Rocks totally fell under the category of science stuff, right?

With a sigh she realized that maybe this giant rock wasn't the best of places to find a fire type Pokemon. Maybe. But how was she supposed to know that? After all, that wasn't really where her expertise was shoved into. But the next part of this venture was. As she came down from the rock all she noticed was that there was someone at the bottom of it wearing a horribly bright shirt. They were absolutely impossible to miss. But maybe that was what they were going for? After all some people liked to be noticed and looking like a living banana was one of the ways to go about it. "Um, can I help you?" There had to be a reason they were just waiting down there and ignoring them wasn't really going to make the situation any better. Besides if she was going to be a police officer she needed to get a reputation for being helpful.
"You're here to get a charmander aren't you? Well I'm gonna get one first! So I'm not gonna let you catch one before me! Let's battle. And if'n I win you gotta leave until I catch my Pokemon." It was a confusing series of events for her. After all Ayane always thought that there was no reason to fight over Pokemon. Especially since technically she was there first. Being challenged to a battle out of the blue though, she could handle that. Grabbing for her own Pokeball in a silent agreement to the challenge she wondered what sort of Pokemon she would be up against. So many people had all sorts of different Pokemon it was always exciting to see what would come from inside the electronic spheres. "Alright, let's go Shuppet!"
Ayane felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach as she saw the ghost Pokemon. She didn't know much but she did know that Cayenne wouldn't have much effect against the pokemon considering his limited movepool. He wouldn't get to participate at all in the battle. Slightly disappointed she moved her hand over to her other Pokeball. "My turn. Show him what you've got Flambé!" The large fire tortise yawned whenever he appeared, smoke rolling out of his shell slowly. To be completely honest, it was their first official battle outside of a few practice ones she had gone through with the rest of the police kids. While the shuppet obviously had speed on her side, Flambé was sturdy.
"Use Ember! Don't let them get the best of you." It almost seemed as though the Pokemon wasn't listening to its trainer, following around the darting sheet of a ghost that used its speed as a safety net against the Torkoal's lack of. Opening his mouth with a yawning motion lazy flames flickered out of it and towards the ghost. Not surprised by the turn of events the Shuppet dashed around it and closer to the torkoal, using Knock Off in an attempt to jar the large rock. It didn't do much. "Come on its cheating if your Pokemon has that high of a defense!" Not wanting to egg the younger trainer into an argument Ayane focused on the battle at hand.
Sure Flambé had high defense but he was still low leveled and that didn't mean he would be able to tank the hits forever. Smog wouldn't really do much either. Battle advantages were important to a young officer in training and even she knew that a ghost type couldn't be poisoned. Slowly whittling down the health of the opponent wouldn't work in this case, unless, they didn't use it to poison the other Pokemon. "Use Smog!" Covering her own mouth she hid her face partially behind her sleeve so that she wouldn't have to breath in any of the smoke. Sure it was far enough away from her to be harmful but the smell still lingered. "You can't poison a ghost type! If won't even hurt her that much! See?"
Gloating from inside the poison cloud it annoyed Ayane how smug the pair seemed about the entire thing. It was gross to think that they were able to lord something like this over her if they won. That was a big if. "I wouldn't be gloating like that if I were you! Use Ember Flambé!" There was no hesitation from the fire tortise this time as he opened his mouth, letting out a large ember into the smog and catching it on fire. Ayane really hoped that it wasn't overkill towards the ghost type but there wasn't much else they could do. It wasn't nice to be a brat. As the flames died down it was easy to tell that the shuppet wasn't in the best of condition.
Ayane couldn't really be sure but she thought she saw burn marks on the sheet like body, meaning that if the battle wasn't over now it would be soon. "Uhg, fine. I'll go somewhere else to hunt for a rare Pokemon." Ayane let out a sigh of relief as the Shuppet was recalled just as it started to float towards the ground. "Sorry for going so hard but, you shouldn't underestimate a future police officer!' Despite her apology Ayane was all smiles as she got closer to Flambé, petting him on the head for a job well done. He had done his very best and the ideas her father had given her before leaving for battling had paid off.
She loved listening to his battle stories and she couldn't wait to write home to let him know how well she did in her first battle.

Unfortunately it seemed like she wouldn't have much time to rest. Not long after the Youngster ran off did she hear footsteps coming from the direction he ran from. The annoying sound of someone popping bubblegum along with the rank smell of overly sweet hubba bubba wafted closer to her. What the heck was going on now? "So, you wanted to pick on my lil brother did'ya? It's not nice to pick on little kids! How about you fight someone your own size this time?" Ayane was confused about this turn of events. She hadn't been picking on the other trainer, he was the one that was trying to pick a fight with her. Completely unfair. "I think there's been a misunderstanding. I wasn't picking on anyone!"
Ayane backed up some as the girl got closer, her Pokeball in hand. "So now you're calling him a liar? Looks like I've got'ta teach you some manners after all!" It was only a moments notice before the Phanphy was out of his Pokeball. At least it was something that Cayenne would maybe be able to handle. Then again, only knowing bide they would be reliant on the other trainer being rash... Recalling Flambé out went Cayenne instead. The alternatively colored Pokemon almost sparkled in the sunlight. The usual blue replaced with a reddish pink tone that matched her own hair. "If you want to fight, I'm not going to go easy on you!"
She said that but... Cayenne only knew two attacks and wihile they worked well together it didn't mean they would be overall effective in a real battle. "Alright, load up with meditate and then bide Cayenne!" Closing his eyes her Pokemon sat on the ground, glowing lightly as he began to pick up concentration. "What a dumb move, your Pokemon isn't going to be able to win by just sitting there!" The phanphy got closer, charging at Cayenne with a tackle attack and the only response was a slightly worried noise from Ayane.
Bide was a risky move since the only thing Cayenne could do was sit there and take it while they stored up power. She hoped that the meditate beforehand would help him one hit this Pokemon but there was always the chance the small elephant would get a critical hit or something. That was her main worry. "What is this? Some sort of peace protest or something? You didn't have a problem beating up on my brother a little bit ago! So I'm not gonna go easy on you either!" With every hit the Phanphy landed, Cayenne's glow increased just a little bit more.
Besides the dirt that was building up on him that was the only indication that he was even effected by the attacks. It wasn't until Ayane saw the slight glimmer of a grimace on his face did she realize they had held out long enough. If Cayenne lost his concentration then all of the beating he'd received would be for nothing. "Bide, hurry!" Sudden movement from the Meditite startled both trainer and Phanphy. The attack launched with an explosive force, knocking the opponent all the way to his trainer. They watched as Phanphy's legs kicked uselessly as it tried to get off of its back.
"Do you want to keep going or do you want to stop? I don't want to hurt your Pokemon too badly!" With an irritated sigh the girl recalled the tired Pokemon. This battle hadn't exactly gone in her favor and it was no wonder her brother had gotten beaten. "I'll remember this! I'm not gonna be the only one that wants to battle you out here!" Ayane watched as the girl turned on her heel to leave. Pleased with the battle she patted Cayenne on the head. "You two have done great today. I'm proud of you both."

It worried her that the girl said that it wouldn't be the last battle. After all, it wasn't like they could just hang around and battle an entire family today. At least she hoped that wasn't what she was going to be stuck doing. All she'd wanted to do was come out here and catch a gosh darn charmander and here she was, battling one trainer after another. At least her Pokemon were getting a good workout from it. She couldn't complain about that much. Final alone for the moment she stepped down the rest of the way from the rock and began to look around. At least if she started heading back towards town she would be able to find what she was looking for. Sure that she was finally able to move on she groaned whenever she heard someone clearing their throat behind her. Crap.
"I believe my Granddaughter told you that I would be coming?" All Ayane could think was, how were these people finding her so quickly? Was this some sort of scheme where they hid out and preyed on trainers who were far away from town? Man that was evil. She'd have to take them in on suspicion of conspiracy. Or something like that. Until they actually tried to steal something from her she wouldn't be able to do much. Turning on her heel she gave another smile. "Yup, I'm guessing you're here to battle with me?" If she was going to continue to battle constantly she would just keep trying to train her Pokemon up. After all, it wasn't fair to let one get stronger and have the other watch. "Come on Flambé, it's your turn again!"
She didn't bother waiting to see what sort of Pokemon the old man was going to throw out. Anything short of a water type and she was pretty sure that her Torkoal would be able to handle without much problem. That double weakness would end up hurting her later if she didn't find a counter pokemon for it... The Beldum was a surprise though. They weren't exactly a common Pokemon and the fact that this guy had one was pretty neat. If this was a different circumstance she might actually ask a few questions about them. After all, Metagross had the potential to be a great police Pokemon. She also knew that they didn't know very many moves at all.
Maybe it would have been better to use Cayenne again... After all with that Take Down plus Bide... Nah, the old man probably wouldn't fall for that like his hot headed granddaughter had. After all, she probably told him all about it. The only problem with this was that Beldum wouldn't fall prey to the poison of smog, just like Shuppet. "Let's get started then if you're ready!" She barely had time to finish gathering her thoughts when the first Take Down attack came for Flambé. Luckily the tortise had a natural high defense. That and the attack being so close meant that dodging an Ember would be much more difficult. "We can't do much else so just keep blasting it with Ember." It wasn't a pretty strategy but it was all she had.
Flames and smoke danced around the battlefield as they went back and forth. The sound of metal hitting rock made her wince every time a Take Down hit. But with every hit she knew her opponent was weakening more than Torkoal was. The type advantage was too great and the added damage through recoil made it a much quicker battle than she expected. But Flambé looked more than a little tired. "I don't know what you were expecting, going up against a fire type with a steel type. But leave me and my Pokemon alone or I'm going to have to report you for harassment!" There hadn't been any subtle recall for the old man's Pokemon.
They had gone on until the Beldum had fainted and that made her feel bad. But still, you didn't just get to continuously harass a girl without some repercussions. Hopefully that was the end of this nutso family. "You just wait girl, this still isn't over yet!" As the man walked off Ayane let out a frustrated sigh and kicked a rock against the canyon wall. "Just leave. Me. Alone!" Some people were just assholes. "I'm sorry you had to go through that Flambé. Here's a snack." Digging around in her bag she pulled out a light weight stone and fed it to the tortise. It was one of his favorites and since it was so light she didn't have a problem carrying them around.
