Life's hard when you get punched in the face all the time. Its almost become what Basae is the best at in life. He got punched by his dad, he got punched at school, he got punched on the streets... he really learned how to take a punch. He also learned how to make people hit harder, piss them off. All you had to do was smile and laugh at them. It didn't made it hurt any less, but it sure made you feel smug when they saw they hadn't broken your will.[break][break]
Basae got good enough at taking punches that he learned how to hit back. How to slip out of the way to make it hurt less. He became good at the little know art of stree-fu. People started placing bets on how many arms he would break in back alleys. He didn't stop them. He didn't refuse the money they gave him after for a job well done.[break][break]
Relying on yourself is hard, but relying on others is harder. Its easy to use others, to use what they can give you until they're all dried up and you move on. Its what he got used to doing. He learned how to worm his way into people's good graces and hearts, make them think he was something he wasn't. Then he would suck them dry like a tick and dump them to the curb. He got got up in a lot of bad this way. Its how he got caught up with Ciper in the first place.[break][break]
He doesn't really like his life, but Basae tries not to think about it. He just wants to float by until he hits the big one, the one thing he knows he can finally rest and not have to worry about taking anymore punches. For now, though, he is loyal to Ciper and all it has to offer him. Even if it throws his home Region into turmoil, he doesn't care. He just wants to be comfortable.[break][break]
