Jensen grew up on the streets of Veilstone City, most notably the town's orphanage for lost youths. That is what they called themselves, and well they weren't really wrong, although lost wasn't the perfect word for it. Jensen was left there, mainly because his parents got involved in an accident around a couple days after the child's forth birthday. Car crash, the only saving grace was that he managed to get out with only a couple scratches. Jensen didn't know much of his folks, except some whispers saying that he was the son to an some-what successful author known for his mystery novels. This sparked an interest in literature in the child, as he wished to read some of his father's works, so he worked as hard as he could to reach that point.
[break][break]
Over the years, Jensen preferred to keep to himself, as he was usually seen in the corner, with a fort of books around him. Hell, some of the other kids just assumed that Jensen couldn't speak, but that simply wasn't the case. The young boy just enjoyed the quiet, so much to the point where he would only really speak if he couldn't help it. This kinda labeled the young Jensen a troubled child, although what kind of trouble could a quiet kid reading books get into? The answer is a lot, especially when he reached he age of sixteen, and was sent off to the world with a couple other orphans at that age.
[break][break]
This led to him mostly being confused on what his next move, word from some of the other teenagers said they were gonna join a local gang that called themselves "Neo Team Galactic". Aside from it's rather obvious attempt of sounding cool, it was a gang of troubled youths who vowed to rebuild the morals of the original team from years ago. Jensen mainly followed after being talked into it, and was promised that they don't try to hurt people. Just cause some trouble, and take money from the rich. Tried to make them sound like a gang of Robin Hoods or something, but just as long as Jensen didn't have to dirty his hands.
[break][break]
The group was a little on the small side, made things easier to move around and avoid being caught by the cops. Especially with the police force's rather diligent strides on nipping any gangs in the bud. So they mostly did petty crimes, things that had low risk but no reward but hey Jensen wasn't gonna complain as it was simple and depending on what they had on them, beneficial. With his cut, he mainly spent it on more books, or simply saved it for a rainy day.
[break][break]
Their string of thefts seemed to slowly escalate over the years, even though their members kept on getting arrested. Jensen simply followed suit, because at this point he simply did not care, he was the quiet man that did what was told. At this point it was all he knew to make a living, and the best way to make a living. Granted it wasn't an honest one, but it was something. The last one that he could remember was an supposed easy job, it was an empty house since it's owners were out of town. In and out, and take any cash or valuables that they could carry.
[break][break]
Shame it wasn't really that way, not in the slightest.
[break][break]
There ended up being an unconceived factor, a member of the family staying behind to keep an eye on the place. This left things in an awkward situation, especially since there was a power struggle between Jensen and the man. One thing led to another, and in a panic he picked up an knife and jammed it into his chest. Which kinda left him mortified at what he did. 'It was an accident, I didn't mean to.' These were the words that ran through his head, as Jensen had to be dragged away from the scene of the crime, before the police arrived.
[break][break]
This incident brought Jensen back to his really reserved shell, he barely spoke as he was still haunted with the image of that dead body. He refused to have any part of their group, and with his money that he had stored away, and by selling a couple of his more precious books, he had enough money to run. To escape the region, and perhaps from his guilt. To a place where no one really remembers, and a land where a fresh start was available. That happened to be Orre.
[break][break]
This happened roughly five years ago, he refuses to acknowledge what happened, as he tried to live an new honest life. He made residence in Phenec City, as a man for hire doing what he can to get by. Unaware of the current affairs of Cipher or about his old gang-mates.
