- Was born in the Kanto region to two happy parents. Parents were renowned researchers, well respected in the community. Lived a happy life with no problems. As she aged she had a growing interest in the research field, mostly likely influenced by her parents. She followed them around wherever they went and learned all that she could. By the time that she was ten she was just as skilled as any adult.[break][break]

- When she was five her parents gave her a Phanpy. Her and this Phanpy never left each others' sides. They were like two peas in a pod. Best friends. Wherever Katarina went, the Phanpy went too.[break][break]

- When Katarina was ten the family decided to move to the Orre Region. During this travel her mother grew sick and passed away suddenly. While it was upsetting for both her and her father, with her father's constant attention she quickly learned to cheer up and look at the bright side of things. While it clearly still upsets her, she doesn't let it get her down. The two moved into a house in the Orre Region shortly thereafter.[break][break]

- When Katarina turned twelve she convinced her father to allow her to start a journey on her own, with her Phanpy and any Pokemon along the way. While he was reluctant to let his little girl venture out all by herself, he knew that she could take care of herself and needed to do this, and allowed her to go.
