L U C A S C A L L A G H A N Powerful rays of sunlight shined upon the city like a flamethrower. Honestly, the heat hear was unbearable. Thankfully the water here in the city made it hospitable. They had so much in fact that they had a giant fountain in the center of the city. It was an audacious monument. The oasis of Phenac City was always a sight to behold while traveling to the haven of abundant water. Such a popular city earned its size from the population who thrived despite the heat of the surrounding desert. It was safe here, a place where everyone was safe from dehydration. It's just too bad that even with all that water people aren't always satisfied. Getting bored gets real easy even with a battle ground for trainers. People go in search of the forbidden fruits of life. Seeking them out beyond the deserts, their desires can be heard by those who are listening. So who exactly had an open ear? That's not something Lucas was willing to reveal. Nah, he was just here to for a quick meeting. The blonde was supposed to do a quick exchange with someone outside of a deli. Walking slowly, soaking up the terrible heat, Lucas looked around wondering where that deli was built. Seems like it would take time for the blonde to find his way around town. The lovely nurse at the Pokemon center was very helpful after his second day in Phenac City. With taking care of his two Pokemon and giving him the name of a good little hotel to stay for the night yesterday, she even was delighted to give Eli the name to a good Deli Eli was fully intending to go to because she recommended it highly, said it was the best in the city, freshest bread and the sorts this part of Orre. Even was told a young man ho worked there made great sandwiches to die for and if Eli had a tail like his Jinsoku then it be wagged in joy as his mouth already was watering.
With parting words of farewell, Eli had his everything he needed and was out on the streets of the city, a piece of paper in hand with the nurses directions to this deli she told him about.
"this heat..." he muttered to himself but kept trugging on because he was a man on a mission and this mission was just starting. No way he'd quit and cower away in a aid conditioned place til it got cooler in the evening. Sides, it was about noonish, perfect time to have himself lunch.
It didn't take long for Eli to find the deli with the help of the directions he was given and looked promising so inside he went, only to pause a mere moment to inhale the smells of the deli. L U C A S C A L L A G H A N "Aha." Lucas said out loud, happy that he'd found the deli finally. Now all that was left was to find the contact and do the exchange. THe blond began searching up and down for the guy that matched a description. Young man about twenty four as well as a couple other details but the most important was that he'd be carrying a brown paper bag. Lucas looked around at first, wondering if anyone outside the deli already was carrying something. Nope. Hm, I'm either very late or early. Perhaps I should give it couple more minutes. He thought to himself, sitting on a bench with an eye kept on the deli door. In his pocket was an envelope of cash. Too bad he couldn't just spend it, ah well, wasn't his anyway. Lucas wasn't about to steal a small fortune if it meant turning a valuable ally into an enemy. Nah that would be completely irresponsible and impulsive. Lucas was far better than that. He was an analytical and cautious person when it came down to decision making. Little did he know about decisions of his contact. Behind Lucas a man fitting the description given looked at a small map. Unsure what he was doing and exhausted, he made a wrong turn towards the wrong building. So now, whomever walked out of the deli carrying a brown paper bag (and looking like Eli West. So Eli West) would quickly encounter the blonde approaching them with a "letter." Inside the deli now, Eli basked in the cool air conditioned place for a moment, letting it wash over his clammy face and skin...it was simply a gods send from being out in that heat. How can people of this city stand this heat? Theres gotta be a limit at some point....Heck, Hoenn was never this hot. But the moment was over and now Eli had a focus on having himself a good sandwich to enjoy for lunch before he decided to move on and get out of this desert area to somewhere more suitable.
As Eli was having a good sandwich made with all the good stuff he loved added such as tomato's, pickles, onions, lettuces, the best sandwich meat they have and some mayo with pepper and a few other select and yet weird items you'd not expect in a sandwich but it's what Eli enjoyed. It was making his mouth water already. In no time the sandwich was done, wrapped up in paper and stuffed in a brown paper bag with the deli logo on it. Eli ordered himself a bottle of water too and paid for his lunch while giving his thanks to the man behind the counter.
On his way back out into the heat, Eli didn't really notice yet the blonde man coming at him quickly and the faint moment he did, he paid no mind to it. May that guy just wanted to escape the heat or maybe get himself some lunch.
