Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

the girl peered at her depressingly emptied surroundings.
"must've taken a wrong turn," she concluded.
she had wanted to reach the much more populated location of - ah - whatchamacallit? peering at her wrinkled and cheaply bought map she glanced at the name 'phenec city' and hummed quietly.
"ah - yeah - that's what it's called."
musing to herself out loud she glanced at the seemingly endless expanse of sand that was a mere stone throw's away. the sky was clear and the heat its typical level of severe. blinking owlishly, beth peered down at her companion who was her usual stoic self. she couldn't help but notice jasper's overly serious nature as of late - but, what could she do?
"let's go get some chow before we head out again. i'm starving."
the scent of food had wafted in their general direction, reminding the young woman of her aching stomach.
"i bet they'll have somethin' all of us will like," she said.

[attr="class","nabody"]Traveling through the region was something she was used to at this point. Also having a bike definitely made these things easier, it would just mean that soon she would probably have to get some hover parts adjusted too it soon lest these horrible sand dunes get the best of her. Riley wasn't one to give up so easily though and with little effort she made her way to a small joint that actually had pretty good food for an outskirts stand. It was also relatively cheap which made it the second best place to go when one was out in these desert parts, but many people didn't know this place existed so it was generally pretty empty except for the usual customers.
The trainer had just managed to park her bike and jam the keys into her pocket when another person seemed to find their way to the sand. A quick glance told the trainer that she hadn't seen this one before. That singled out that she might have been a regular, and the second fact was the way she held the map in her hand like she was trying to find something that was simply not there. "Hmm.. Maybe I should do a little helping before my meal." she commented out loud to herself before pushing her glasses up on her head which shielded her eyes from the sand as she drove her bike out here in the desert and sand.
"Hey, you look a little lost." she said perhaps a bit too bluntly with a wave of her hand. "I'm about to get something to eat, but if you join me I wouldn't mind pushing you in the right direction." she said adding a smile at the end. She really didn't want to seem like she was hostile after all as she casually leaned against her bike. The worse the other could say was no so the trainer wouldn't really worry otherwise, even if it was a no she could still go inside and have her meal before leaving once again.
that had been the first thought that had crossed the young woman's mindscape as soon as the stranger had entered her line of sight. once greeted with such a nice figure and such fashionable clothing she visibly struggled to articulate.
"uh..."
opening her mouth, beth nearly said something that involved requesting intimate information related to the dark-haired woman... only to suddenly bite her lip and feign shyness. her gaze would avert, the bright orange of her eyes shifted someplace in the distance.
"y-yeah. sure."
appearing to brighten up once she regained some semblance of reason, she absently adjusted her cap and grinned at the fellow trainer. or perhaps she was a breeder or...? what other professions were out there, anyway? it was at the very tip of her tongue, yet she couldn't put a name to it at all. shaking her head, beth decided to focus upon the promise of being accompanied to lunch.
"let's get our chow on, then," she said. "do they have a good selection of pokefood?"
she gestured to her machop who was eyeing the stranger somewhat warily.
beth offered her hand up for a shake, her grasp firm yet gentle. she made sure to offer up her right hand, her bandaged left feeling somewhat irritated at this point of time. it happened on occasion - that itch - but, there was little to be done about it. she would simply have jasper help her apply some ointment later on.

[attr="class","nabody"]Hmm was something the matter? That was the first thing that crossed her mind as the other seemed to have her moment of hesitation. Riley had never been one to really get caught up in anything so people that did confused her. Yet the trainer tried not to be rude and absently moved her hand behind her neck to rub there some maybe she had been too forward? Riley never knew when she was too forward or to blunt because that was just her type of personality. So when the other finally seemed to respond Riley visibly eased glad that she hadn't worried the other too much by approaching her the way she had.
"Great, sorry if I was too forward. It's just a thing of mine, if I say something you don't like just tell me to shut it. I really don't have a filter sometimes so I apologize ahead of time." she said with a lopsided grin as the other said they could get their grub on. Hmm, maybe that was one she would store in her memory and use later on. The second part of the girls question had the woman thinking for a moment as she moved a finger to her mouth for a moment to think. "I believe so, they have a pretty good selection for everything, Hades and I come here all the time so I'm sure you can find something for your machop." she said nodding some and letting her hand fall from her face and move to her hip to rest there casually.
When the other extended her hand Riley smiled and did the same offering her's and shaking just as firm as the other had or perhaps a bit harder. "It's no big deal, name's riley. Nice to meet you over a good meal." she said with another laugh and a big grin. The girl had noticed the wrapping on her new friends' arm but really it had just passed right over the trainers head. Even if she could be a bit blunt and out there she never really dug into other people's privacy until they generally told her about it first.
beth cocked her head to the side, making her way toward the entrance of the diner with the comely woman by her side.
"that's a wicked name," she commented. "i jus' name mine after stones."
the booth they selected was someplace in the corner, the large windows offering them a grand view of the outside. unfamiliar with it, beth -once she had had initially slid over to leave enough room for machop to sit - stared at it openly. her eyes soon clung onto the sight of blue, the sky open and clear and most definitely noteworthy. a waiter approached, his skin tan with a layer of freckles dusting his cheeks. he took their order, with beth requesting sustenance for three out of five of her pokemon. the others had had eaten recently - which left hitmontop, squirtle, and machop in need of service.
"alright! you three, sit next to me. c'mon."
beth found herself settling all the way at the end of the seat, nearly pressed against the glass as the two fighting-types and the singular turtle pokemon took their place. their drinks were quick to arrive, with all three requesting a water.
"the hitmontop is picasso - the machop is jasper - ... and the little squirtle is topaz," the young woman introduced.
she looked to the waiter and requested something relatively simple. several dishes of pokefood that would fill them and a hearty sandwich for herself. as they somewhat impatiently awaited its arrival, beth started a bit of smalltalk with the woman.
"so! whatcha doin' out here? traveling someplace?"

[attr="class","nabody"]Riley smiled some at her compliment rubbing the back of her neck some. "Yeah, that's pretty boss. I name mine after gods and godesses so that's where hades came from." she said laughing a bit. It was really interesting to hear what different people thought about nicknames honestly, and that was what made her so interested in the entire thing. Riley slid in to her side of the table comfortably adjusting her glasses on her head and her scarf for a moment or two. It seemed that everything was going pretty well for just meeting as three pokemon seemed to join the other on her side and she named them one by one.
"Those are some pretty cool pokemon." Riley said really admiring them for a moment or two before looking away and trying not to be rude. "I have a cyndaquil, hades as you already know, and I recently picked up a roselia." she said with a slight grin. It was nice to talk about pokemon without having to worry about what others would think. When the waiter came to take their order she let the other go first before ordering "the usual" which consisted of a double burger and steak fries for the regular of the establishment. Riley would have normally gotten a drink as well but with company she didn't want to act like too much of a gluten.
"Yeah, I actually travel a lot, I'm a mechanic, but I really like being able to move around a lot. It gives it a sense of.. hmm freedom." she said moving her hand. Hopefully the other could understand.
