She followed, but he could feel that seed starting to grow. She could feel that she was questioning her own desires. She was a proud mantis; lauding her own abilities to sever and soar in the plains surrounding her former nest. Nobody dared to strike her, or even shape such a thought to their minds and will. Should they lash, she would cut them down. Should they raise a battalion with a war cry, she would scream back. She was a reaper, this insectoid. She was honed for battle and she was ever ready to bleed and see blood. Yet those were just dreams cast under a gloomy cloud-spell. She never saw battle because they feared her. She never got hurt until this man with fading blue hair invaded her zone. She was rattled by the altercation involving that Meditite. T'was not friend nor foe, but she felt her blood simmer and rage. And so she fought, and so she experienced being overpowered by that damned reptile! The clouds overhead were scattering, no sign of the sun playing hide and seek for a good few hours. She and Eustace arrived at the center of the town, and only a few people took notice of them. Of these individuals was a large man, wearing naught but a jacket, shorts and a dirty smile. His hair was greased over, but he had the stride of a stout dwarf- his own bulk altered his footsteps. It wasn't this that made Eustace turn his head, but rather his hands grabbing at the tools he had claimed. "Are ya stealin' from us?" Her master stepped back and tripped, spilling the contents all over the ground. Arcelia hissed, stepping forward to protect Eustace without a reason as to why in her head. The large man laughed and slapped his stomach, soon reaching into his pocket to procure a Pokeball. "Is that damn bug yours? Why is a freak like that protecting a scrawny little shrimp like you?" "Because I'm her master, you tub of lard." He laughed again as Eustace stood up and dusted himself off. The thug took one step back and tossed the sphere, releasing a small pink and cream colored cat. Both Eustace and Arcelia gave it a curious brow, and she hissed again, flapping her wings to take flight. Eustace held out a hand, but she remained prepared. "Listen, you can take that crap if you want, but I'm not here to batt-." The Skitty had already lunged forward, snapping her tail towards Arcelia. As she prepared to swipe, the cat dropped down, avoiding the blade, and rammed her head into Arcelia's chin. It was the quickest Fake Out either of them had ever seen. Naturally, the mantis staggered back, covering her maw in pain. "Hahaha! Keep ramming that freak, boy!" Eustace's eyes grew wide, not expecting the Skitty to be male. In the snap of the larger man's fingers, that look was soon joined with a step back. "B-boy? Oh shit..." The body of the small cat made contact with Arcelia's mid-section, but she reacted quickly. A leering of her eyes followed by a downward slam of the blunt flesh on her arm. Contact was made, and she was relieved to see him... Land on his feet? His fur felt soft and warm, and her heartbeat was becoming loud and hard. It was just for a faint second, and it faded with the sudden mewing turned growl. Arcelia doubled back, landing on her feet just to the left of the pile of odds and ends. The Skitty was closing in for another Tackle, and she couldn't move away. Her body said to move away, but the effects of that odd sensation remained, and even more so when he hit her again. She went with the force and slid back, waving her blade twice before her. The shockwave of energy collided with the backside of the feline as he was landing, and that sensation died. She was relieved to see him in pain. The cat's master was grinning from ear to ear, arms crossed and eyes changing targets. Eustace had moved away from the scene, standing opposite the pile and switching from Arcelia to the thug. He collided with her again, and she slammed him down. A louder hiss escaped her, as that fur became attractive for the last time. "Ain't surprised, but I'm amazed his Cute Charm failed. I was gonna rob ya, but now I'm feelin' nice and sweet. Still a freak." Eustace stood in front of her, his head turned and an eye staring. She was poised to strike, but fell calm as both the thug recalled his cat and left. Now there was a mess in the center of town, and that was all to think about.
