Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

To call this a walk in a field of daffodils would be an incorrect gesture. Pyrite Town was the least likely place to find a single flower blooming, let alone that specific type of flora.
The scientific name of the daffodil flower is narcissus poeticus. At first glance, one would read it as "poetic narcissist", and they would be totally correct. Poet's Narcissus is one way of saying it.
The irony is there and isn't. Eustace was far from being a narcissist and he was hardly poetic. He cast himself with the maggots that fed from the land and he loved it. He reveled in the down-trodden and crumbling state of a town made from junk and felt just that closer to coming home. Although... maybe in that thought, he was a narcissist. He cared about his parents- all four of them. Blood or no blood, Medana was still his adorable little sister.
The people he met, the fools who brought out the worst of him, and the blessed few who unlocked the best of him...
Anti-hero? The kind of guy who acts like a total badass and joins the good guys? Kids may consider him that, and elders would shake their heads. There are two people in this region who know why Eustace is on the wrong end of the spectrum. There are two people who understand Eustace's desire for being under the same roof and wearing the same colors as them.
Libra? Order and Justice? That could be one way to look at it, but there was no order in a place such as Pyrite. A literal shell of its old song and dance, thugs and criminals walked the streets, hiding in alleyways and probably digging out holes in the chasm leading to The Under. This is where Eustace's heart was. He could throw a punch at anyone and have a faulty, yet justifiable reason for it.
Some kid stole candy? Slap 'em. Some camera obscura is getting a peep show? Bust the lens.
Except, that wasn't how Pyrite was now. In fact, Eustace had no idea what the town was like. He had rarely set foot here as a child, simply out of fear for doing something wrong.
Dressed in a denim jacket with a white undershirt, there was a little dirt on his chest, and puffs of it sticking to his blue jeans. The wind was starting to pick up as Spring arrived, and any rain seemed to never happen here. He could sweat and it would just dry up. Arcelia was by his side, leering at every action he made, which only summoned a look just as dismal.
It was obvious to the observant that she hated him.
"Blame that Endric kid, Arcelia. He made me miss the damn tournament and now the Tower is closed down for repairs.
I was hoping to get you up to speed with Diego, so this is all for you. You or I can bitch and whine, but you're part of the family. You had the choice of breaking free and fleeing, but you didn't."
Her eyes narrowed and she shook her head, her own thoughts filling up her space as both entered the town, a gust of wind fading around them.
Arcelia the Scyther doesn't like Eustace. Let's try to change that.

She really did have a choice. Her stamina wasn't depleted totally, but she did struggle to move for just a second or two. If that Pokeball wasn't tossed so accurately, she'd have fled at the third second to recover and replenish her energy.
If it weren't for the inside of a Pokeball, tailor-made to suit the one being caught, she'd wouldn't have paused. The inside of her prison home was perfect, yet she knew it was artificial. A field of grass as the centerpiece, seated betwixt a mountain and forest with lake. The clouds above moved slowly under a false sun, and it was a paradise. She was totally aware her sense were deceiving her, and she even fled to the boundary zone.
The grass felt so real brushing against her feet. The wind carried the scent of fresh Cheri berries and she almost turned around. The first pause was made when she stopped to slice at the grass. Everything was real. Everything felt like home, despite home being somewhere else in that forest. So why did she stay with Eustace? Why bother falling under the command of someone who never commanded?
Her wings flickered twice as the two continued into town, her master stopping by a building tucked neatly around a corner. The look on his face only pissed her off. That smug smile fell to a solid line that vanished with a hung head. His hands dusted off his jacket and he infiltrated his pockets for a small flask of water to take a sip and offer it to Arcelia.
She presented her blades, and he just chuckled.
"I'm offering to hold it for ya, sweet wings." She hissed and turned away, feeling the urge to just graze his cheek a little. With a shrug, he took another sip and tucked it away, staring at the building again.
Arcelia was done with her thoughts, her eyes looking at people watching them from their windows and above rooftops. The town wasn't empty, but the streets were just a little dead. And then some kid and his Pokemon came from behind and bumped into Arcelia's abdomen. She screeched and swung around, striking a small furry creature with a shockwave. Eustace turned as the kid screamed, watching as a Sentret hit a soggy cardboard box, completely knocked out. As for the kid, he was staring down the wrong end of a Scyther's extended hand.
"Arcelia!" She blinked, withdrawing her arm as Eustace grabbed her shoulder, trying to keep an eye on the kid. Before either of the two could say anything, the boy rushed to the Sentret and picked him up. He fled before anyone could say anything.
Arcelia the Scyther seems to have more issues than I thought... Let's really try to change that.
Sentret was knocked out via Vacuum Wave. No counter added.

The kid looked terrified. His eyes were watering and looked red all around. Had he been crying before Arcelia scared him? If that was the case, the boy's pants were probably soiled and damp twice over by now.
Eustace was fuming, his grip on her shoulder tightening. She felt the pressure of his fingers and dirty nails fluctuate- he wanted to slap her, but he couldn't. She really had no idea what to think or feel. Her own eyes narrowed and it looked as if she were talking to herself. Eustace slowly let go of her shoulder and backed off, turning towards where the kid ran off to.
The box the Sentret struck had a few things pouring out, all soggy and covered in mud. There was at least one ripped up sock and an old, yet still usable pouch with a large blue sort of berry-like design as a center focal point. That was stuffed into Eustace's satchel instantly. A majority of the remaining contents were literal junk such as books and broken dinner wear.
Among those sat a stone, yellow as the sun, but half-coated in grime and grease. A small groan came out of Eustace, his eyes scouting the area for something usable. Sure, there was the sock, but it had a damn hole in it. The berry pouch would've worked, but the stone just needed to be cleaned off. A few feet away from the two was a small portable staircase and another box of rags and assorted tools. With the good side of the rock in his hand, he sat down and began to polish it.
His Scyther watched his every move until he sat down, shaking her head and turning away.
Arcelia the Scyther doesn't like shiny things! For shame...
Shiny Stone found. Eustace uses Rock Polish.

"That mean guy and his bug are over there!"
The voice came from nowhere and, by the time Eustace turned his head, that little boy, his Sentret, and some taller man with almost sea green hair and a single pokeball in hand, were standing a good ten feet away from him. Arcelia had taken notice, but simply rubbed at her head with her arm, yawning softly towards the sky.
The taller man stepped forward, presenting the Pokeball and then bowed to the kid, patting his head and ushering him off. All three pairs of eyes followed the kid and his Sentret, Arcelia huffing at them as they peeked from around the corner of a southern building. She was aware of who they were, but the simple fact they came back struck her as odd.
With the rock now cleaned and all the tools and rags sitting neatly in a worn out bag, Eustace flung it over his shoulder and stepped forward. His eyes never left the man as he too, came forward again, bowing in earnest. Eustace and Arcelia blinked, the blue-haired man coughing before asking a question, "Can I, uh... help you with something?" It was obvious the kid had said something to him, or he wouldn't have spoken up otherwise.
Mean guy and his bug? Sure, they looked the part but Eustace tried to hold her down. Arcelia was just reacting to a threat, albeit a harmless one. The sea green man stood up straight, one arm behind his back and tilting his body to the side. Eustace's eyes narrowed, staring at the hair for a second and then leaning forward to turn and look for the kid. Their guest was about to speak, but quickly hushed again.
"Was that your brother? Kid came up behind Arcelia here and scared her to death. Lucky I'm her commanding officer or else there'd be cops around ya."
The guest was sighing, two fingers pressing into the bridge of his nose and closing his eyes. "Yes, that is my brother- Derek. My name is Emile.
Derek told me something quite different, and I'd know he'd never lie. You bullied him into the ground and I won't sit down for that." Arcelia hissed, backing up as Eustace stuck and arm towards her, and as the guest began a battle; summoning a Shuckle.
The worm yawned after emerging from his shell-home, his front tentacles rubbing at his eyes and then slapping the ground. Perhaps it just woke up, or maybe it had battled before, but it was still tired. The sight of this creature had the opposite effect on Arcelia. She had vanished with a leer and smacked the left side of the Shuckle.
This prompted an automatic response from her opponent- he retreated and that was it. "He said you simply let her do what she pleases... Sticky Web; restrain the maggot.""Maggot? She's a Mantis. As for letting her go crazy, it ain't like that."
During this small exchange, the Shuckle's head appeared on the right side of his shell, and spat out a yellow-ish web at Arcelia's feet. Contrary to what a web does, the material solidfied, and the mantis took an extra second to fly away with a second leering gaze. From above Eustace she growled and launched a shockwave from her claw. Her master could only shake his head. With her pokeball in hand, he began to toss it around, clicking his tongue.
"I'm learning about her as I make my way home. No use trying to tame a beast you just found. You gotta observe it- I'm doing just that." Emile laughed his head towards the ground, wagging a finger. "You just made a grave contradiction. You caught her and you know nothing about her.
Rollout." Arcelia had landed at Eustace's side, kicking her feet against the staircase in an effort to remove the hardening web. "I could release her." Arcelia stopped, staring at Eustace. The Shuckle had rolled up into his shell and launched with a leap, slamming into her backside. She had no time to react, as her foot got caught on the staircase and she tripped but caught herself.
His head hung as he moved away, latching her home to his belt and hiding it under the new bag. "Do no get distracted, Arcelia. If I really wanted you gone, I would've left you there at Kaminko's.""You are a monster.""That I am."
Her scythe stabbed the ground and she stood, turning on heel and smacking the Shuckle away, his second attempt literally hitting the wall. He fell and Arcelia looked mighty pissed at him. She screeched, pointing that dirty scythe towards both men. "Seems she wants to cut you down.
Constrict." She damn well could, and he'd allow it. An arm or a leg was hers to lash out at, but the simple fact was this: she had a choice. As the Shuckle's tentacles wrapped around her feet, she barked and slashed the air, knocking away the strange bug. Emile was amused, knowing that his being there probably wasn't needed at all. He recalled his Shuckle and gave Eustace a pat on his shoulder.
"I don't know what just happened, but... She has issues." And then he left. Eustace was now left with an angry Scyther and everywhere to run.
Arcelia the Scyther hates everyone now. Croc is... kinda sad.

What was she like before this? It was only a few days ago that she had joined the crew. It felt like yesterday she helped shave down that army of Dunsparce at Kaminko's.
Only Arcelia knew and if she could speak, she probably wouldn't. She was quick to react, ample and able to take a hit here and there. To one, they could consider her just territorial wherever her feet graced the ground. To another, they would argue an issue deep in the recesses of her mind. Psychotic? Unstable? Threatening and fulfilling to cut someone down if they so much as gave her the wrong look?
Eustace loved those types of people. He was one, Diego was looking like it, and Arcelia... She would raise her blade and swing it at him. Eustace would let it rest on his shoulder and just smile. She wanted that. She felt every sinew and fiber of her being scream for having been caught, but those four words were starting to make her sick.
She had a choice. That was simply it. Whether she wanted to be with this strange man or not rested solely on her heart and mind and both pairs of shoulders. His words did not echo. The beating of her wings kicked up dust and she started to move towards him.
Eustace had turned around, watching the little boy and his brother leave for home. Their heads were moving and they were probably chatting; talking about Arcelia and her trainer. They could say all the wanted, but Eustace would just shrug it off or laugh his ass down to the floor. With a heavy inward breath, he turned around to face her. She had stopped within arm's length and hissed, her arms lifting up and her head lowering.
"I know you're pissed off, but it's true. I could've left you for dead, but I didn't. My reasoning is kinda stupid, but once we reach that point in your new chapter, you might find you like me."Damn it, sis... Skitty. Spinda. Hell, a damn Surskit would've been better...
But of all the Pokemon you wanted to see, a Scyther was at the top of your list. She is going to kill me when she finds out I caught her just for you.
The giant mantis straightened herself and began to walk around him, casting an eye to a dome-shaped building in the distance. Standing next to her, Eustace was looking elsewhere, window-shopping for more useful tools and whatnot. Buckets of wood and steel, gears of all sizes and other scraps seemed to just love this part of town. People had thrown them out, and people had taken what they could.
On a table sat another little satchel, torn and coated in spider webs. He didn't flinch as he reached for it, and a single berry fell into his hands. He walked past Arcelia, heading towards the dome-shaped building. She followed.
Arcelia the Scyther will destroy us all. Medana will cry.
