From what Isra knew the village of Agate was one of the few that was quiet still, somehow secluded from the harshness of the rest of the region. At least that was what she was told when she spent her time helping around the inn and spoke with travelers or stopped by the tavern to see what they had for her. She was the errand girl of sorts, doing the odd little jobs to help out and in return being helped by the people of those establishments when she needed it. She didn't get payed persay but it was how things had been since she was very young.

Isra was out at night like she normally was. she hoped the pokemon that everyone had been making such a fuss over would be out at night too like she was. That would have been nice but she half expected it to not be since she'd heard it was a grass type. Honestly she didn't even really want to catch the pokemon, she just wanted to see it. She didn't get to see a lot of things from Agate...

Abyss walked beside her, he'd been a new addition to her home. She hadn't really planned on getting pokemon other than Walter but the bird caught her eye so she figured she'd see how well he'd manage. He seemed happy to walk through the village with her at least.

She generally wasn't a judgmental sort but sometimes she had to wonder if she was really as crazy as people seemed to act like she was. This seemed an even odder sight than she herself was most days. She wouldn't dwell on the screaming... person for long though as they released a mankey and pointed towards her. It wasn't a very appealing beast and she hoped the bird at her side would handle himself well enough.

Abyss did the job, actually he walked into the battle with quite a bit of confidence in himself. Even as the pokemon against him moved in for a low kick he turned to astonish it, causing it to be startled before moving in to peck at it. His super luck ability gave him greater damage as he hit the right spots by luck and the mankey cried out. It focused its energy before moving in for a scratch attack but that didn't help any against his next peck attack, bringing the pokemon to its knees.

Isra was pleasantly surprised by the bird and gave him a pat on his head when he returned to her side and looked up at her. She moved along, she really wanted to see this roselia pokemon before the moved on and she didn't get the chance to see one again.

If she wanted to go home so bad shouldn't she have just continued walking? Isra sighed but motioned for her bird to go out and meet the Chikorita the girl had with her when she issued the challenge. She shook her head as the bird started in with a new move he learned, pursuit. She was alright with this, progress. The grass type responded with a growl and Isra yawned before finding something to sit down on. "Peck, Abyss."

Her bird used the move she advised and soon found it dealing plenty of damage to a grass type. Isra nodded in approval and the bird prepared for another attack with the chikorita let out a razor leaf. He didn't seem too shaken though, the chikorita was however when he went in for another peck attack and it hit particularly hard. The pokemon barely let out a growl before the bird could peck at it again and it went down.

"Best to keep an eye on type advantages next time, especially with something like a honchkrow." she smiled at the girl before they parted ways and she continued her search for the rose pokemon.

She continue on through the village, her bird at her side as he chose to walk with her rather than fly by like he could have. The two were happily going along without a care in the world when her pokemon saw something that shimmered. He scurried off in a hurry.

"Get back here Abyss." she scolded but the bird grabbed the item before he listened to her and returned, dropping it at her feet with a happy caw. She reached to pick it up and recognized the shape and coloring. She'd seen such things before in the cave as it always held lost things and placed the item in her basket. It would stay there until she got home and could examine it a little bit closer.

Isra continued walking. "Let's go, we need to see if we can find it before sun up." he scurried along behind her.

At first she thought she had found the rumored pokemon and was going to get all excited... but then it turned out to just be a jolly old man who was hunting around for a few things. Isra was disappointed to say the least as she truly was looking forward to finding one of those rose pokemon if only to be able to say she saw one. She really didn't want to take it home but seeing one would be so cool!

The old man didn't quite see why she had such a sad look on her face but offered her a pokemon battle to see if it might cheer her up. Isra sighed and accepted but to be honest, regretted doing so the moment he released his pokemon. She didn't even want to know where he might have located something like that. It smelled gross. Actually it looked a little gross too. Arceus she would never own one, she swore that now. If she ever ended up with one she'd give it to one of the boys that liked gross smelly things.

The astonishing smell caused Abyss to use his astonish attack! Lucky for him it worked and the grimer gasped, giving him a chance to go in and peck at it. Lets just say he won't be pecking at it twice though, between the smell and the nasty texture of the thing he wasn't keen on doing that again. It used harden and somehow that made it grosser. Isra cringed at the thing, she didn't think pokemon could get this nasty. "Just use astonish more." She tried not to look at it too hard. Abyss obeyed and flew away as fast as his little wings would take him when the grimer tried to move in and give him a pounding. He tried to hide behind Isra.

"Oh Arceus no I just too a shower!" he flew behind its trainer.
[break][break]
"Oh sweet heavens to betsy no no grimer do not get on my sho- grr." the grimer god hit smelly goo all over his trainers shoes and tried to back track apologetically, giving Abyss time for another astonish attack. By now the grimer was whimpering a little and let out a could of poisonous gases making everyone scrambled, including her bird who was using astonish as he back tracked out of there as fast as he could.

Luckily somewhere in all that the attack hit at least well enough to knock the grimer out and he was immediately returned to his pokeball. The old man apologized for the pokemon's behavior and continued on his way mumbling about how much trouble the blasted thing was.

Isra let him go and carried Abyss over to one of the streams to wash his goo covered beak off in. She hoped she never saw one of those things again.
