You were a vision IN THE MORNING WHEN THE LIGHT CAME THROUGH “I’m a princess….”The acoustics up here were much nicer than Lace had imagined. The climb up to the top of the lighthouse was easier than she had expected it to be. She suspected it had to do with the fact that it was in that transitional period between late night and early morning. The time between 3am and 5am were magical. Those two hours were awkwardly placed in between when the night owls went to bed and the earlier birds woke up. Everyone was asleep, or at least almost everyone. “Cut from marble….”Ragdoll was off doing something else on the floor below her. The Shuppet had gotten reoccupied with her reflection in one of the mirrors down below and Lace continued up to the top floor without her. She didn’t mind being alone up here without her companion. Her Shuppet wasn’t exactly the strongest Pokemon around, but it didn’t matter much given the fact that she hadn’t seen any movement up here when she peeked around the corner before entering. "Smoother than a storm…”Now she was leaning up against center light and faced the rising sun. It hadn’t come out yet, but she was going to be here waiting for it. She used to watch the sunsets religiously back home and sometimes Lace would wake earlier enough to see the sunrise as well. She had seen countless sunsets in this region since she’d arrive, but this was going to be her first sunrise. “And the scars that mark my body…”Her chest was bubbling with excitement. She almost went too sharp on the final word of the verse, but Lace contained her excitement enough to finish off strong. Lace had some time to pass and the only way she could think of doing it by herself was with singing. If someone else had been up here with her, maybe she could have started a conversation or something else along those lines. She had been dying to have conversation with someone. She thought of so many thoughts and no one to tell them too besides her Shuppet. But, the ghost Pokemon wasn’t able to respond and many people just were not willing to listen to her. “They’re silver and gold...”Lace wasn’t offended. That happened to her so often she stopped caring at this point. Sometimes people would answer her, but mostly she would just get weird looks. It hadn’t been as bad in Fortree because she knew which people would respond and which wouldn’t, but now that she was somewhere different, Lace had to test her luck on who would respond and who wouldn’t.

Twilight.
This was not twilight. Most people would call this a dead hour. Ghost hunters and spiritualists and any sort of folk who stalked abandoned buildings and haunted areas always worked between the hours of 3 AM and 4 AM. They believed that, when the respective part of the world was prepared to sleep and rendered inactive, the spirits would arise and live again.
Eustace was not one of these people, as he slept when he was tired and walked when he was awake. Perhaps it was because of that woman, Olivia, of whom bore the same title as a member of CipherEx. Her goals were unclear, and even more so with the ticks and tocks of a mechanical marvel on wrist or wall or phone. His watch was absent. His home was not here, and his cellphone had all but been used to check the time.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Did he need such a device, especially when there was nobody to ask that simple question? Did the world really need to keep track of the hour when they could just look at the shadows whilst standing to the north? ... Eustace did.
12:07 PM. April 27th. A cruise ship had left port here in Gateon Harbor.
On board were two important people, and on board they would die. 3:57 AM. April 20th.
The only Lighthouse in town was tall enough to see the imagination of a small child picturing an island drifting closer. The only Lighthouse in town was bright enough to have that child wave to someone looking straight at them. The only Lighthouse in town was sturdy enough to not fall over and build a bridge to that island.
That child was now grown and standing before it in all her majesty. The beacon was shining, but unmoving- at least to him. With just a memory drifting upon a wave, he stepped inside, only to stop and hear the giggling of someone or something.
"At this fucking hour?" His voice was just a whisper, barely reaching twice his height as he hovered to the stairwell. Maybe it wasn't giggling. Maybe it was just something that could've made that sound, but still... With hands warming themselves in his jacket pockets, he began to ascend the stairs to the very top.
To the top, where the wave became rogue.
