Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

Maiya stopped by a bench to set down the bag with the swinub egg in it and check on it again, being certain that it was safe still and hadn't been jostled around too much. She wasn't interested in losing the revenue of the egg being a lost cause. Her attention was only drawn away when her vulpix seemed to take an interest in something under the bench, a sleeping pokemon. [break][break] The Phanpy was fast asleep, likely hiding from neighborhood kids that would otherwise annoy it and keep it from sleeping for too long. She gave sage a little nod and could have sworn the vulpix gave a devilish grin before roaring as loud as the little thing could manage, scaring the wild pokemon and causing it to bump its head on the bench. Maiya retrieved the egg and put some distance between her and them while she watched. The phanpy was flailing a bit, still clearly startled while sage was snickering. The pokemon used her extrasensory attack and the wild one winced though it seemed to get an idea of what was going on now. The pokemon tackled sage, getting out from under the bench and sage responded with another extrasensory attack. The phanpy tried to curl up into a ball, but it didn't do much good against the next extrasensory attack. [break][break] Maiya waved for her pokemon to back off, throwing a pokeball at the phanpy while it was still tightly curled up. She looked forward to taking this one home with her.
Maiya didn't have time to find out why Sage was so interested in the rock she'd found after they captured the phanpy, she was distracted by the wiggling of the egg and rushed to return Sage back to her ball and return to the hotel room she had with reggie while the egg hatched. Once it was she contacted the buyer that had been interested in it, packing up another egg she'd been asked to hatch for someone while she was at it. Once she'd confirmed a drop off with the client in question she took the Gastly egg, now happily nestled in a pouch and slung it over her shoulder while she walked out the door and back to the square to train her vulpix. [break][break] It was only once they were back in the square and she released the pokemon that she had time to pay attention to the stone she'd picked up. It looked like something she recognized and she slipped it in her pocket, double checking to make sure the little egg she was hoping to hatch next was settled. She went back on her round with the vulpix who seemed to still have enough energy to go.

When Maiya was on her way back with the new egg slung over her shoulder she went ahead and pilfered a thing or two off of some passerby, just for funsies. She had to keep herself from getting rusty after all, never knew when the talents were going to come in handy. [break][break] Inspecting her loot she found it to be a couple of mostly unremarkable pokeballs, then again she doubted too many people in this town carried remarkable things on them so she wasn't sure what she expected. With a shrug she kept the items just in case and went back to trying to find something for sage to get a work out on.

Somebody wanted to fight fire with fire and see what happened. He quickly discovered it does not work in your favor when your fire is not very strong, which his wasn't.
[break][break] The houndour used Ember but it did nothing but buff up Sage's own ember which even the fellow fire type seemed to dislike the feel of, it tried to use ember again but once more, it did nothing and resulted in the next ember Sage used being even stronger. The smaller and much weaker pokemon fainted without much trouble. [break][break] Maiya shrugged and went about her way, shaking her head. She wondered where they heck these people came from, and how they survived.

She heard the sound of a shutter and saw a flash again. The little woman was instantly filled with rage and set the egg down on a bench, picking up her vulpix with strict instruction to protect as she turned on him. [break][break] He made the mistake of taking another picture while she did, [break][break] She broke it like the last one and grabbed the one around his neck, yanking him down to her level. "Try it again fucker." his smart ass whipped out another camera. [break][break] She grabbed it and shoved it in his face before yanking him to the ground, ignoring the yelping over his bloody nose. She smashed the second camera into the ground before reaching down and yanking the one around his neck of with a snap. She busted that one up good too and the dumbass tried to get away. She swung it at his legs by the straps and when he tripped found a garbage can to slam down over his head. [break][break] He'd be lucky if she didn't put him in the hospital the next time she saw him. [break][break] Maiya returned to her Vulpix and egg to find the pokemon cuddling up against it, at least she didn't run off. That was the last this maiya needed.
