Oh right.. because he had been tossed a pokeball on the way into town by some woman who said she was leaving town. Only then did the grunt come to find out said pokemon was a shiny poochyena that apparently only responded to the name french fries. Honestly, who would name their pokemon such a name? Archer wasn't quite sure what to believe right now but still, it wasn't like he would turn down the pokemon. It was a type the man used and a pokemon that he wanted in the end with just the added bonus that she was a shiny as well. Now the only thing left was to train the pokemon until she was fighting fit and could actually do some damage other than a tackle that was the only thing she knew right now. "Honestly, this far out for a rare bug.. I'm just going to kill it." he said rubbing his temples. He had since let out the poochyena who was more than happy to simply prance around and smell everything. This one was a curious creature indeed. Ugh, he felt the pressure in his head increase now as the thought of a poochyena going up against that rhyorn annoyed him more than he would care to admit. Red orbs glanced to the poochy at his side but even he wasn't that cruel to put the dog up against something that would hurt it too much. This kid was also really annoying as well wanting to make him buy a pizza if he lost, hell if he lost to an annoying kid like this one. He would just have to pull something else out. Reaching to his side another pokeball appeared in his hand as it enlarged and the grunt tossed the pokeball as a cacnea emerged, it would be strong against this stupid rhyhorn to get rid of it quicker cause that was all he wanted at this point. "Leer, then Absorb." he commanded jumping right into battle which surprised the kid before him. "Hey that's not fair " he cried as his pokemon's defense was quickly lowered and a strong absorb was taken from the pokemon which did quite a lot of damage considering it was weak to the grass type. "Rhyhorn, Horn attack!" he called. The rhyhorn roared and launched forward after the smaller creature which was a lot more quicker than the heavy poke that came its way. At the last second Archer called out a counter to the boy's reckless move. "Now! Roll to the side and aborb it again!" he called out quickly. Honestly, this kid had alot to learn as the second absorb did enough to take the big creature down. This was the perfect example that power was not everything in this type of world. "Find your own damn money I'm not buying you anything." Archer huffed at the kid who seemed to be distracted by his rhyhorn long enough for archer and his team to make a quick get away before he realized they were leaving. WE WON'T GIVE UP THE FIGHT AGAIN TAGS: @moddy mod | NOTES: training the pooch After a successful escape it didn't take long before another seemed to show up with another pokemon that wouldn't be good against his poochyena. It seemed Arceus himself didn't want him to train the pup stronger than she already was. Honestly, what did they want him to do? Archer sighed when the breeder went on about some kind of juice and released shuckle out onto the field. While there wasn't a type advantage this was another battle for cacnea as the cactus pokemon moved forward and archer once again whent right into battle. Red orbs calculating as he sent absorbs and leer's at his target. It was slowly sapping health from the creature even if it wasn't super effective, just about as much as the fury of return moves against him. Finally the grunt had an idea that while it wasn't super effective a barrage of poison sting would probably poison the shuckle to the point it would start killing itself as well. That was the plan as several poison stings would finally cause poisoning to spread through the creature. It was a pretty much one sided fight from there as cacnea continued to drain health and restore most of the damage the shuckle was able to give it and finally the creature fell from the poisoning it was given. "Good luck with your juice." he said plainly as the cipher once again continued to walk now and hoped he would actually find something that would help train poochyena. It finally seemed weak enough for french fries to handle as he motioned the poochy forward as cacnea waited by his side swinging its arms back and forth to keep from being still. Archer would have to keep that little detail in mind when he trained the cactus in the future. The creature seemed to move first rushing forward and trying to attack with its horn but the good thing about this was poochy was small and it could move to the side as the bug fell on its face in front of the trainer. Oh boy... this was going to be pathetic wasn't it? "Tackle!" he called as the golden pokemon lurched back at the fallen bug giving it a good strike considering it didn't quite have time to move. Annoyed at the poochyena for tackling it the female shot bullets at the pup as a couple managed to hit but didn't do too much damage. Having no other option once again Archer commanded the same move again as the tackle hit once more. It would take maybe one more tackle to take down the bug when it realized it was being defeated boosted up an endure surviving yet another good hit tackle into its stomach. "Tch." Archer growled and commanded one more time as french fries managed to land the last hit and take down the bug before it could manage anything else threatening to his pokemon. Hey, it was no stain off his back as the cipher pocketed the rather expensive item before he headed back the way they had come. He hadn't managed to really get much done but poochyena and cacnea had gained a few levels and that was good enough for him in the long run. "I need to get more training done." was all the guy mumbled as he left the tree infested village in search for real training opportunities.
