This is a bit of a catch all rule thread that contains rules pertaining to behavior around the site, characters, accounts and other such rulings that do not require their own thread and have instead been mushed together. You'll be expected to keep to these rules during your stay on the site. Rules about more specific pieces of the overall site system can be found in the rest of the log book board.
[break][break]
Please remember, this is a proboards site meaning that above all else all conduct on the forum must abide by the PB ToS.
[break][break]
We reserve the right to alter, add or subtract rules as we see fit. In the event this occurs we will either make an announcement post or mass PM regarding the change.

{Please also respect that no one staff member does everything}Most staff members on MDH have a strict selection of things they are in charge of and are expected to do their specific jobs, if a staff member is on but not looking at your apps its likely because apps are not one of their jobs. Should the person(s) in charge of something not complete it within a 24-48 hour period someone else will step in and take care of it, but please be patient and don't expect every staff member to be doing everything on site. We've split up jobs for a reason and expect members to be able to work with that.

Respect
Respect
[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"]
Self explanatory, as long as you are on this forum you will be expected to act respectfully towards your fellow members and the site staff. This doesn't mean you have to blindly agree with everything but at least be civil when you disagree, this is especially true when dealing with a staff decision. We don't expect you to blindly follow when you don't agree but don't be a jerk about it, voice your concerns respectfully.
[break][break]
If at any point in time you are having troubles with another member or have any concerns about another member's behavior please PM a staff member about it and include any specific instances you have of the behavior (ex: screenshots). Even if it's not bad enough to warrant doing something about it please do not be afraid to bring it to our attention so we can keep an eye on it.
[break][break]
If at any point in time you feel there is a problem between you and a staff member please PM a main admin (Nevermore or Endless) with your concerns and instances/screenshots of the behavior so it can be brought to our attention and we can do something about it.

This should go hand in hand with respect, the site is the be kept drama free. Leave your problems on your desktop and don't even bother bringing them to the address bar let alone the site. If at all possible please walk away and take a break before drama breaks out and the staff have to step in, which will be done if we deem it is needed.
[break][break]
Should we see outbreaks of drama we will step in and handle it, if you feel there is a problem brewing with another member, again, please contact an admin with proof and we'll get it dealt with if need be.

Language
[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"]
We allow cursing within reason, especially with in-character posts. We won't harp too hard but try not to make every other word said a curse word. We should not be swimming through curses to get to the actual content. We also allow harsh language to a certain degree as well, anything that can fall within the PB TOS will be allowed on site just again, don't abuse this fact.
[break][break]
We do however ask that people watch their tongues in the cbox. Again, we won't harp too hard but don't go spamming the cbox with curse words over and over again.

- faceclaims We are an animange site, we expect the bulk of face claims to be from anime or manga material. We will allow video game characters on site as well so long as you use anime/manga styled art for them instead of CG animation.
[break][break]
In the event that you have self done art in the above mentioned style and can give ample proof it is your own art and not another's you may also use this on site. Please contact an admin (or two to make sure someone sees it soon enough) while you are making your profile so we can give you a go-ahead before your accepted. - characters must be at least 16+ this site is not intended to have a bunch of middle schoolers running around, as such we will require all characters to meet a minimum age requirement of 16 years or older.
- number of characters At this point in time MDH does not have any set character limits or requirements on making new characters. You will be expected to stay active with all characters that you make though and if we feel you are spending too much time making characters and not enough actually doing something with them you will be asked to slowdown or even banned from making new characters until your current ones hit a certain bench mark of use.
- ACCOUNTS we are a one character per account site meaning that each character will be played separately on different accounts. While you can make your account name whatever you like (within reason, character's first name prefered) you will be expected to change your display name to your character name in the FIRST LAST format
- WE ARE DEATH ENABLED the site is not going to go out of the way to kill your character or their pokemon, however if you wish to kill either? Go for it. Your character got themselves into a situation they can't plausibly get out of alive? They ded. It's pretty much up to you/your character to protect them and keep them from dying, or you know, kill them off that works too.
- Region of origin While characters may be from any region we would like to emphasize that this RP is based around the Orre region meaning that most character's must be from Orre. If we feel too many characters are coming from out of Orre we withhold the right to limit/ban characters from outside of Orre should they begin to over power characters from Orre.
- THERE IS A SOFT LIMIT of 1-2 characters from out of Orre for each member, this is more a guideline and less a steadfast rule but if we see you with 5 out of region characters and 0 Orre characters chances are you won't be allowed to make another out of Orre character. We really want to stress most characters being from Orre.
- starting pokemon information can be found in the application thread in character creation.

[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"]
- all pokemon information should be taken from generation 6, specifically the ORAS games, please do not use x/y for pokemon on MDH
- HIDDEN ABILITIES are not allowed on the site.
- GENERAL ABILITIES do not work outside of batte save for a few exceptions. For specifics see the pokemon rankings and abilities thread in this board.
- movesets may not exceed a size of 4 moves.
- Native region pokemon gen 1-3 are the only native and therefore spawnable pokemon in the region of Orre
- Gen 4+ pokemon will not be spawned as wilds but will be available through site events as things go on.
- shinies are obtainable on site but you may not start with one.
{Why are only gen 1-3 spawning on site?}This is to keep in line with the original region lore. Orre is a spin off region that was created around the Hoenn era when only 1-3 existed. We have decided to stay true to the games in this aspect by having only generation 1-3 be native to the region of Orre.

Modding periods & threads
Modding periods & threads
[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"]
In order to keep a steady pace on the site MDH has modding periods, 2 week long period within which you may create up to 2 modded threads & 2 Colosseum threads not including swarm threads. These threads may be completed at any time the only timing that matters is when the thread is started.
[break][break]
Example:[break]
Modding period lasts between the 4th and the 18th of the month. [break]
You start a thread on the 16th, but don't finish it until the 19th
[break]
Because you started it on the 16th it counts for the 4th to 18th modding period, not the one after.
[break][break]
Also to be clear. Colosseum threads are not the same as a general mod thread and have a separate counter of 2 per modding period as well. Swarm threads and social threads are not included in this limitation.
[break][break]
Modding periods are always announced in the mod request thread. Please allow at least a 24 hour overlap before it might be updated, we can't always have someone around at midnight to swap it.

word count & literacy
word count & literacy
[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"]
While the site does not have an official word count we are not a one liner site either. So long as your thread partner can reply we won't hound on you to write more but we definitely encourage people to put a little more than a single sentence in their posts.
[break][break]
Mod threads however, will expect you to put a little more effort in, roughly somewhere in the 100 words/1 paragraph/ 2-3 sentence range at least. This is especially true for Colosseum threads, they're more or less the Orre region equivalent of gyms so we expect to see a fair bit of effort put into those!
[break][break]
As for Literacy, we do not expect perfection, simply that your posts be readable and something people can understand and respond to. If you're prone to making the occasional spelling or grammar error don't worry about it.

Don't do either of them unless you have been given permission to do so by your thread partner. You may also not use either to avoid your character dying, you're forewarned from the beginning that we are considered death enabled so if a character should die, they die. No bulshitting out of it.
- god-modding is as its name implies, when your character more or less goes into 'god mode'. most often seen in battle sequences, this is when a character never takes a hit, never misses, always gets a crit hit but never gets tired either, an invincible and godlike character.
- power playing is the act of deciding what another's character does for them or otherwise controlling a character that is not your's in order to force a certain reaction without being given permission by the other player to do so.

Meta-gaming
[attr="class","mdh-v2-info-main-text"]
metagaming is the act of your character knowing something you know from out of character discussion that they should not know in character. ex: endless tells nevermore that maiya has a horrible fear of water, suddenly her character archer knows to throw maiya in a fountain to scare her when nothing has happened ICly to tell him that she is afraid of water.
[break][break]
We would like to put some extra emphasis on this rule in particular when it comes to its potential impact ICly on MDH. We have special boards that only set groups of characters can access, at no point in time should a character that is not a part of that board somehow magically know what's going on in it and what that group's next move is. This applies both to you discussing it oocly with other players and their character's suddenly knowing things they should not as well as your own characters knowing things you yourself know because another character is in that board, and them just so happening to catch on quicker than they probably should be.
[break][break]
We expect everyone to be able to handle the difference between things their character should know and have the means to figure out what they would not because there's been no evidence to say they would. If you cannot you may find yourself losing the chance to get involved in major movements on both sides to prevent it from ruining things for everyone else.

MDH miniprofiles currently contain two imagines, a 100x100 icon and a larger 250x400 image for the hover, if you are having difficulty making these things or finding them on your own let someone know and get someone who can help you out.
[break][break]
Please keep signatures within 500px x 300px in size, if they're too big they will be removed.
[break][break]
Please avoid large gifs in signatures and around the board, some people are still on older devices that have difficulty with gifs especially if they need to load several large ones in one sitting. Also please avoid lengthy gif icons or ones with a lot of movement in the cbox for similar reasons. If a Gif is just something small like a blinking ! or ? that's alright just keep it minimal.
[break][break]
All graphics should be within the proboards TOS, meaning that we should not see anything with explicit content or anything particularly gorey or anything of the like.
