The terrain

The region of Orre lays up against the coast line of an island a bit out of the ways from the rest of the pokeworld. Once upon a time it held the same sort of greenery many of the other regions also held but long forgotten events triggered a change in the terrain. Nowadays the region is over run with desert and only a small potion is still covered in vegetation. [break][break]
The desert is harsh, always hot with the sun beating down with little more than the occasional outcropping of rocks to be used as cover. The nights are equally harsh but on the other side of the spectrum, with nothing to keep the earth warm the nights are cold. Citizens always warn to be prepared to travel by day and even more so if you wish to travel by night, or else you might freeze.

The forests of Orre are humid and warm like the rest of the region, clinging to the sides of a river coming in from the coast line. Most notable is Agate village and the farmlands its citizens have spread out through the most fertile places. These are what sustain much of the regions needs and are heavily relied upon by the desert citizens.

The coast line holds a port and not much else, it is the only port in the region and because of that it is bustling and active since no one has anywhere else to go. Should one venture off the coast a ways they will find an island, however very few dare venture to it. The island was said to hold something even the locals want nothing to do with.

The people

The people of Orre are a rough bunch, they always have been. Too far away from the other regions to be heavily influenced by them and largely left to their own devices the region has never been what the others call 'stable'. There is no governing body, the law exists but it has never been backed well enough to make too huge of a difference, the region has always been run by the heathens and outlaws. Even though it has become much calmer in recent years it is still dangerous to walk a street at night alone.

The people have their moments mind you, not everyone is lawless or without a conscience. Just like with anywhere else you will find people of all walks of life in the region, it's simply a widely accepted fact that when you're born and raised in the harshness of an unstable region you yourself will toughen up eventually too. You have to be tough if you're going to make it in a place where there's hardly a town that doesn't have its own friendly neighborhood band of bandits and outlaws.

Relations with the other regions

Orre is not invited to Sinnoh's tea parties to say the least. The rest of the other regions prefer to sweep Orre's existence under the rug due to its instability and the fact it has always been a hot spot for trouble. Even as the region has begun to calm down and gain its footing on Peace island most of the international organizations do not trouble themselves with the region beyond making sure its trouble does not spread past its own borders.

Due to it's less than positive reputation with the other regions Orre does not see a lot of tourists or people from outside of the region within its own borders. Actually outsiders are a rarity though not unheard of. Cruise vessels are not what brings them here however, more often than not it is winning over a trade vessel's captain that brings them to Orre as trade from the other regions is the only thing that their port sees.
