A harsh life has left Maiya extremely aggressive and with a quick temper. She is a classic case of punch first ask questions while punching. Generally speaking she has very little patience or tolerance of other people's shit. Maiya is the sort of person who knows exactly what she wants and she takes it by any means necessary. Many find her to be fearless to the point of recklessness as nothing seems to be enough to stop her even when most other dare devils would turn tail and run. She is to an extent, an adrenaline junky, enjoying the thrill of the danger.

But that is but a passing glance at the woman. Despite it all she has a surprising capacity for compassion and should she feel comfortable enough to show it she is quite caring. Her loneliness causes her to strive for meaningful bonds while her past and distrusting ways makes letting people in difficult. She is protective of those she does come to care for though, perhaps even to a point of becoming a little territorial. No matter what though one can say her will is strong and does not waver, once her mind is made up little short of death will stop her.

However, she is, above all else, a survivalist and was raised to treat others as though the are tools, easily broken and disposable when no longer useful. This mentality has proven hard to break and is one of the greatest struggles in letting people in. Still though, she tries, in the hopes that one day that will change.

Born in Fortree Hoenn the girl was doomed early to a difficult life, one she would rather not share. Even after swapping hands from her neglectful and then some mother to the hands that would care for her up until two years ago the situation could easily be summed up by the phrase "jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire".

The man she wound up living under was the leader of a little band of criminals known to the Hoenn authorities for atrocious deeds. Though Maiya was not the worst of them she was widely regarded as part of their upper ranks and is far from innocent herself, though you could call her more a villain by circumstance than by nature. She was stuck here throughout her teens, being put to use by the leader for a variety of deeds and jobs much like the rest of its members.

Right around 2 years ago Maiya returned from a job to find the headquarters had been found and ransacked by the authorities, fleeing Maiya managed to escape arrest for the time being. Making use of her name and reputation the girl managed to find her way to kanto where she hid out for awhile, taking up mercenary style jobs under the monicker of the "blazing sun". Eventually she got a very interesting job, a man looking for an art piece by an artist of Orre from many generations past. Due to Orre being one few dealt with there were only 3 known outside the region and none were up for grabs. Instead the man wanted someone willing to go to Orre and hunt down another of this sculpture and bring it back to him for quite the payday.
