Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

Unbeknownst to most Evan was actually a rather accomplished trainer when it came to such challenges. He was well versed at the gyms of the other regions, he challenged them any time he happened by one and had in the past tackled the Orre Colosseums with much success. However it had been quite some time since the last time he'd been around and bothered with the gauntlet. He wasn't afraid to go it again though. He had a new team to boot. If nothing else the place would offer a good chance for him to see if he still had it or not. It'd been years since he'd really bothered with any kind of competitive pokemon battling. [break][break] Evan walked into the battlefield with a serious business face but was greatly amused when he found things hadn't really changed any since the last time he'd paid a visit. No actually most things looked the same as before. If anything he got quickly distracted by how so much of it looked the same and ended up looking around to see if he could find one of the spots he had vandalized after a previous victory or not. [break][break] Honestly, he kind of forgot why he was there to begin with for a moment.

Evan was busy moving some rubble around to see if he could find what he was looking for when he heard someone clear their throat nearby. He was ready to ignore it when he heard it again and looked up. Oh right, he was supposed to be here for the challenge thing wasn't he? Whoops he should probably get back to that. It was petty easy to tell the guy thought he was going to be easy pickings from his exasperated sigh. Judging by the way he was dressed Evan wasn't surprised. [break][break] Evan swapped in his standby pokemon, the mudkip he'd picked up awhile back. The little bugger was hot pink and flashy but a better type match up than his vulpix or Ralts. It would be his luck the guy'd have a dark type from the start. The bird pokemon took to the sky and circled above the fish who looked at Evan expectantly. "Well? You going to shoot it down or not?" He gave a general gesture of what are you waiting for before the pokemon decided on water gunning down the bird. It did not take kindly to it and tried to dive bomb the mudkip and peck at it. To which the mudkip responded with very loud yelling that even left Evan with a hell of a look on his face. "Is that really necessary?" the mudkip kindly ignored him in favor of tackling the bird to the ground while it was low and using water gun in its face. The squawking bird tried to use astonish but only made the situation worse for itself. Evan had to retrieve the mudkip before it ended up actually drowning the poort guys pokemon. [break][break] The look of displeasure on the other guy's face was met with a rather smug grin of his own, honestly did he really seem that incompetent? Scratch that, he didn't want the answer, he'd been told more than once he came off as an idiot even if he wasn't. The relicanth came as a surprise but at least he could let the ralts out to play now. "This one's sensitive, try not to rough him up to much." He made a point to look at his opponent and grin, he was most certainly being a dick on purpose now. [break][break] The relicanth started off with harden, not that it did it any good when the ralts started things off with an "Outcry of disarmament!" Fancy talk, he liked the sound of it. The Relicanth didn't of course but that was kind of the point. It used water gun she used teleport and blasted it with a psyshock from behind. The relicanth hardened again before turning to use water gun again, and while it hit it didn't really bother the ralts any. She was more concerned with using confusion of the hulking beast and while it tried to shake off the attack she struck again. The pokemon went down and was retrieved by his owner who seemed rather displeased with the loss. [break][break] "Before you go anywhere, you ever see the name Evan on one of the walls around here? I wanna see if its still there." the guy snarled at him and walked off, Evan went back to hunting for the mark he had left.

Evan was circling a crumbling pillar he could have sworn he had marked at some point in his younger days in Orre when another one of the gauntlet trainers approached him. She threw out a Torkoal and much to his dismay, had it use rapid spin on the pillar to get his attention. "I wasn't done with that." Evan sighed but resigned to finishing this little challenge he had signed up for. Releasing his mudkip again he saw the look on her face and shrugged. "Try not to drown it." well he would return the pokemon before it could dot hat much damage. [break][break] His mudkip went right for the water gun, the toarkoal in return withdrew into its shell and his pokemon scampered up to the waiting turtle type. After a moment of waiting the mudkip started slapping the shell, repeatedly. One mudslap after another until the toarkoal came at it with a rapid spin, knocking it over. Getting back up the mudkip responded with a water gun attack from afar much to the fire types dismay. It came in with another rapid spin but the mudkip managed to dodge and strike again with his water gun attack. When the turtle came to a stop it had already fainted from the watery attack. [break][break] She returned her pokemon and he returned his. Next she released a seviper and he released his Vulpix, a better match up than the other one with him. The Vulpix seemed curious about the snake but the snake was more interested in just getting the battle over with. It slithered in and swept at the fox with its poison tail and she jumped back, blasting the snake with her extrasensory attack. The snake thought twice about that, sneaking in the bite at the fox's paws just to be met with another extrasensory attack. It cringed at the psychic powers and so did its trainer, apparently she hadn't expected that outcome. It tried to swip with its tail again, perhaps to poison the fox but it didn't get past the next wave of psychic energy from another extrasensory attack. The snake didn't handle it well. [break][break] He wasn't sure where she wondered off to but he figured it was probably to report his victory and send out the next challenger.
