just because everything's changing
There wasn't much down here other than dusty items, some old bones, and a few books that had been too badly chewed by the local wild life to read, but if the guy wanted to explore, Alastair wouldn't stop him. Alastair choose to stay quiet while he watched the Roserade and her master. The worry was genuine. No doubt about it. But Pokemon were not meant to judge their owners off of. For example, Baroque was a stern and strict Pokemon. She didn't take any shit being thrown at her and would round back with deadly and fierce attacks. Alastair wasn't like her. He bent rules, sometimes till they broke. He disliked limits and had a nasty temper once someone was able to thoroughly piss him off. He took insults rather well, knowing that his worth wasn't drawn from what others thought of him.
"We have two choices," Alastair said with a happy tune in his voice, "we can either explore this dank basement or head back up top. Your call, seeing as we're down here because of you." It wasn't a jab. Just a mere observation. Alastair was sure to hide his sarcasm the best he could, which made the words come out monotone. It sounded weird. Potato tilted his head at Alastair. All the emotion had been drain.
Ah, yes, this wasn't some adventure anymore. It was an experiment. Alastair was curious about the angle of this guy. What was he aiming at? Why fall down the hole? Usually someone would scramble for safety and the only falls being when someone lost their grip. Alastair was sure he planted himself as well as he could have on the smooth floor above them. But those were just questions. He needed a hypothesis. Then, the test.
