Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

The pills went down easy with water. After that, Alastair took a shower then got to work changing the bandages. He would have to shower in the bandages, at least until the wounds stopped bleeding. Carefully, he wiped the excess blood up and bandaged his leg with fresh gauze and medical tape. The pain medicine was already kicking in, thankfully. He changed into his pajamas after he had verified that he had taken the right dosage. His pajamas consisted only of fluffy Skitty pajama pants that were as warm as they were adorable.
It seemed almost as soon as his head hit the pillow, Alastair was out. The room pitch black. Leap floated over to the curtains and pushed them away, the sun setting outside. He blinked and pulled the curtains back to the best of his armless abilities. The Beldum then began to explore the room. The door was dead-bolted, locked with a chain, and one of the over-door locks. It was almost as if the human had no faith in the world around him.
Leap floated under the bed and began to snoop around, coming across a scale. He put it on his head and got out from under the bed, putting it into Alastair's opened bag. The scale plopped down next to all the other items Leap had found that day. With that in the clear, Leap went over to one of the empty hotel room chairs and nestled down on the cushion, letting his eye close. If the human said it was sleep time, then sleep Leap shall try to obtain.

The rumbling started only a few hours after Alastair had fallen asleep. Leap was the first to wake up. The Beldum got off the chair and floated to the window, seeing a dust cloud rising. They were out in the desert so it was normal for storms to hit with traveling Pokemon. Of course, that was what the Beldum thought. When the rumbling got worse, he couldn't help but think something was going on. The tower was built to withstand Pokemon attacks, especially out here. Leap faced the door at another rumble and the heavy metal broke , landing on the floor with a thud. Oh dear.
An Onix, rather small for its species, had somehow managed to tunnel up to this floor through the rest of the tower. It must have been trying to escape from the storm. Leap got ready and charged as soon as the Onix but its head inside the room, probably going to make a break for the window. Not only would that end badly for the Onix, falling all those stories, but it was also pain rude to enter without knocking.
The Onix reared back and hit its head on the ceiling. That was when Alastair woke up. He jumped out of the bed with a shrill "MOTHERFU-" followed by a thump and a groan of pain. Leap ignored him. The Onix gave a cry and hardened the rock surrounding it, just in time as Leap sued Take Down again, sending the Onix into the opposite wall. Shouts could be heard from those in the room adjacent from Alastair, but Leap was sure they were fine. The Onix came in for a Tackle, but because it was too large for the door, Leap had enough time to jump back and avoid it. The Beldum narrowed his eye and charged again with one more Take Down, the Onix falling back.
This time, the Onix prepared itself once more with a Harden, and before Leap could get close enough for another Take Down, the Onix used Curse. It didn't matter much. Leap hit the Pokemon again, this time harder than before, and the Onix fainted.
Alastair peeped over the edge of the bed, officials coming to carefully transport the Onix away.
"Do you need another room?" one of them asked. Alastair gave them a look.
"One where an Onix can't reach me thanks."
Leap followed Alastair as he, and a few other people, went a few floors higher, closer to the top where that coliseum was supposed to be. Once they got to the new room, Alastair fell asleep again and Leap laid on the chair next to the window. What an exciting night.
The pounding on his door woke Alastair up. He looked over at the red flashing letters of the clock and groaned. It wasn't even three in the morning. He got up and peeped through the peephole before opening the door, the chain catching it with the hinge door lock.
"Yeah?" he asked, his voice thick with sleep.
"You are the guy that defeated that Onix right?" the man asked, way too excited for that early in the morning.
"My... Beldum did if that is what you mean..."
"Battle me!"
"..." Alastair sighed and rubbed his eyes. "Tell you what... you come back tomorrow at... ten with some french toast with three slices of bacon and with the french toast drowned in maple syrup with sugar powder on it, and we'll battle." The man seemed to consider it and nodded. "With a cup of coffee," Alastair added. The man left after and Alastair went back to bed.
He woke up the next morning at eight thirty, later than usual, and got up and took a shower. He didn't remove the bandages until he got out, then he carefully cleaned the wounds out before wrapping his leg up again. He left and got dressed, sitting down on the chair, watching the desert outside, Leap on his lap. The Beldum was still snoozing, but was slowly waking up.
At ten on the spot, there was a knock at the door. He got up and checked again. "What the fu..." he mumbled before opening the door fully. The man that had come by last night had a plate with four pieces of french toast on it, covered in sugar powder and syrup. Beside that was another plate with three pieces of bacon, each one crispy and only slightly burnt on the edges. The man was also holding a cup of coffee with multiple sugars balanced on another plate on his arm.
"Can I fight your Beldum now?" he asked, way too happy. Alastair blinked and motioned for the man to come in. He came in and set everything down, napkin and silverware included. He was practically buzzing.
"Hey, Leap," Alastair said, the Beldum floating up. "You alright for a battle?"
The Beldum seemed to consider it before giving a nod. The man seemed even more excited, and waited for Alastair to eat the breakfast, talking about places he had traveled to. It was more interesting than Alastair had thought. The man was a traveler, and explorer. An adventurer. They talked for a while, and by the time Alastair was done, the two had already been over Alastair's adventure in the desert and how he had hurt his leg.
Alastair got his bag and locked the room down before following the man to a battle room, one located on each floor for convenience to trainers. The man walked slowly, enough that Alastair wasn't rushing and hurting his leg in the process.
By the time they got to the battle room, it was time. The man sent out a bird, one holding a leak. Leap got ready, and then charged, dodging a poison jab before taking the bird down, tackling into it hard. The bird skidded back and responded with an Aerial Ace, the move leaving a scratch on Leap's hard metal casing. Leap responded with the only move he knew: Take Down. The bird was suffering from it, and even Leap was looking a little worn down. The bird struck with multiple Furry Attack, hitting Leap a few good times on the side, but the Beldum dodged the last few attacks and hit the bird again, knocking it back. That move had taken a lot of health and the bird charged with a Fury Cutter, hitting Leap hard. The Beldum used Take Down once more before the bird fainted, the Beldum floating a little lower than he usually did. He was getting worn out.
The man then sent out a Serviper, the snake hissing. Leap tried to float higher but he dropped back down. No. He could do this. The Beldum let out a battle cry then charged, raising a little bit of dust at his charge. The Serviper moved out of the way and Leap skidded to a halt, a dust cloud following. The Serviper then attacked with a Warp. Leap managed to squirm out of it before too much damage could be done, then he hit the snake hard, sending it skidding.
The Serviper attacked with Bite after, Leap using Take Down again. And the two kept at it. Alastair watched the two dodge and hit each other. Leap dodged a Lick, hit a Take Down. Took a Bite, missed his Take Down. Eventually, the snake collapsed and Leap floated to the ground. Alastair got a Potion out and limped over to the Beldum, spraying him with the Potion. "Good job, buddy. Take a breather," Alastair said softly. Leap gave him a soft cry and floated back up.
Alastair said good bye to Damian, the man seeming more than pleased with the battle. He left then and Alastair got his stuff and went back downstairs, Leap following. Today... today they would do some shopping. Alastair needed some new boots.

Before he got to the store, an old man had challenged Alastair to a battle. He was fine with that, of course. Leap was feeling much better than before and seemed to be doing just fine. That meant the Beldum could battle some more. That and the Beldum was so weak compared to the other members of the team. The more Alastair trained with the Beldum, the better off he would be.
The old man sent out a Teddiursa first, and used Fake Tears. Leap was not affected, brushing it off like water off a duck, and then used Take Down, striking the bear hard. The Pokemon used Baby-Doll Eyes after, trying its best to weaken Leap's attack and defense. Leap was, once again, not affected and used another Take Down. The bear was feeling the pain. Then it charged with a Furry Swipes, scratching Leap hard on his tough metal shell. The Beldum closed his eye in pain then used Take Down again, knocking the bear out with a well placed it to the face.
The next Pokemon was a Voltorb. The Pokemon started off by using charge, gathering energy for the rest of the battle. Leap did the only thing he knew how to do: take down. He slammed into the Voltorb hard, sending the Pokemon rolling into a wall. Alastair winced. That had to hurt. The Voltorb got up and used Sonicboom, hitting Leap hard with the sound waves. The Beldum tried to shake it off then charged again, hitting the Voltorb once more, and sending it into the wall. The Voltorb bounced and then rolled, coming at Leap for a Tackle. The Beldum dodged and then used another Take Down, hitting the Pokemon harder into the wall this time. The Voltorb tried to roll back up to face Leap, but eventually went still in a faint.
Leap shook himself, feeling the pain from his only move, and floated back to Alastair. The old man thanked Alastair, as per the norm, and left. There, now with that out of the way. Alastair went into the shop. The sooner he got himself some new boots, the sooner he could break them in.

He saw it before anyone else in the store. The bird that was wandering down the isles silently, the steel feathers not even making a noise. Alastair followed it. Something seemed off about this one. It seemed... weird. Upon closer inspection, he saw what was putting him off. The usually bright red steal feathers were green. The usually metallic body was more rustic in appearance, but not brown. More like a green-hue like metal left under a body of moss. Yes. It was what people called a 'shiny'. A shiny Skarmory.
"Leap," Alastair said softly to the Beldum, "Take Down." The Beldum moved and hit the bird hard, knocking the Skarmory down. The lost bird got up and gave a defiant screech, attracting attention in the store. The workers got ready to clean up the mess that would occur after. People battled everywhere here. The Skarmory shifted on her feet, kicking up sand. The sand didn't affect the hollow red eye of Leap, the pupil being nothing more than a floating mass of metal that allowed him to see with developing psychic abilities.
The Beldum used Take Down again, the bird using Agility, increasing her speed. She darted around Leap, making the Beldum miss an attack. She responded with a Swift. Leap then responded by hitting her with another Take Down, her talons digging into the plastic floor, a scraping noise following. She caught her balance and then narrowed her eyes, letting out another screech She charged with a Peck, smashing her beak along Leap's body, the metal on metal causing sparks to fly. Literally. Leap made a sharp turn and charged again, striking the bird on her side hard enough to make her hit the ground. It took a second for the Skarmory to stand, her legs and wings shaking. She gave a weak screech. That hit must have hurt. She looked like she was on her last leg. After some rest, though, she should be alright.
Alastair whistled and Leap stopped mid-charge, glaring at the bird. She glared back. Alastair tossed the pokeball and the Skarmory was sucked inside, the pokeball landing on the ground. The works got to putting the clothes racks back up, but watching out of the corner of their eye. Alastair watched the pokeball roll. Leap glared at the pokeball, as if daring the Skarmory to deprive the human of joy... Leap's human, of joy.
