Long ago, the region of Orre was a place of untold danger, where two groups: Cipher and Snagem, wished to rule the region through the power of shadow pokemon. Pokemon who's hearts had been closed and were used as machines to fight rather than as partners to the trainers who caught them. These groups were defeated by courageous young trainers who wished to free pokemon from these fates and restore peace back to Orre. That peace has lasted many years and perhaps has done more bad than good for the region of Orre. With so much peach, how will the region react to the rumors of Cipher returning once again? The peace has been a blessing indeed, but with peace always springs a new enemy that wishese to destroy it once again. Which side shall you choose in this endless struggle between peace and chaos?

It took a few minutes for Leap to return with a forlorn look on his face. he hadn't found anything of value! Well, he had found plenty of valuable things, but not during that search. Alastair patted his head and stood up. There was no real loss. Besides, Alastair's backpack was getting heavier.
"Hey!"
Alastair held back an groan and turned around. A man ran up to him. He looked happy. His Voltorb rolled up beside him.
"I want to test out the new moves I taught my Pokemon for the stage!" he said. "Care if I try them out on you?"
Alastair hesitated and checked his watch. Well... he had time to waste. "Why not?" he said. He nodded to Leap. The Beldum moved in front of Alastair and the trainers backed away.
"Great!" said the man. "Use Charge!"
The Voltorb tensed and began to charge up its electrical power. Alastair gave a nod to Leap. Well... it wasn't like the Beldum had anything more to do. The Pokemon backed up and then charged, striking the Voltorb hard. The ball-shaped Pokemon rolled back at a fast speed and slammed against a stone fountain. It rolled back and shook itself off. The man hesitated.
"Alright, now use Spark!"
The Voltorb charged at Leap, slamming into the Beldum. leap rocketed back but caught himself. He narrowed his eye and then charged again. He slammed into the Voltorb again and sent it back into a wall this time. The Beldum hovered there, ready for another go. Then he hesitated and floated a little lower. Alastair was a little taken aback but... well, Leap had been battling for a very long time. He would need a rest after this.
The Voltorb looked at its trainer. "Rollout!"
"Dodge!" Alastair ordered. Leap floated higher into the air just in time to dodge the repeating attack. The Voltorb skidded to a stop, but not in time to roll out of the way of another Take Down. The Voltorb hit Leap with a Rollout then. The Beldum slammed against the ground and then floated back up. He backed up and charged once more, hitting the Voltorb hard enough to send him back into the wall again, this time leaving a small crack.
Leap floated to the ground and gave a tired cry;. Alastair patted his back and returned Leap to his pokeball. "You deserve a long rest, buddy. Thank you," he said. He put Leap's pokeball on his belt and looked to the man. "Not bad, but I would work on your performance."
The man rubbed his chin and recalled his Pokemon. "You're right! I need to go talk to my director!"
He ran off. Alastair thought about telling him that he would see him on the big screen but... no. Alastair got another pokeball on his belt and looked at it. He had to let her out sometime...
The Pokemon was released. She opened her blue eyes and looked around before looking at Alastair. She turned up her nose and crossed her claws. He sighed. Yeah, that was what he expected. Alastair limped towards the cafes again. He glanced behind him. Ember was following, but she was trying to make it obvious that she wasn't. He smiled. One day she would warm up to him. He knew it.

The item caught her eye. Ember walked over to it and picked it up. She gave it a curious sniff before moving a little closer to Alastair. She held it out to him.
"Oh? You found an item too?" he asked. He sounded almost tired of all the items. He reached down and took it. "Nice find, good job."
Ember crossed her arms and looked away from him. Alastair sighed and continued on his way. Ember hesitated and then followed him. The other team members had told her that the human tended to get hurt. And by get hurt, they meant near-death. Whoever was out was responsible for his safety. Not that she cared, but the others seemed adamant on preventing her from giving up her duty. It wasn't like Ember hated the human. She was rather fond of him when he fed her and gave her attention, but that was it. There was no loyalty there. Baroque had felt the same way, but eventually the bird developed that friendship. Ember was sure that was not going to happen with her. The human was too... not fire.

Alastair entered the cafe and looked at the menu. Everything looked good and he was starved. He walked up to the counter and took out the note and card.
"Um, hi, I was given this," he said to the cashier. The man took it and read it all before smiling.
"Of course! How many Pokemon you got?"
"Six. One Ponyta, one Beldum, one Charmander, one Skarmory, one Poochyena, and one Lapras." The man wrote it all down while nodding. "Got it. What do you want?"
Alastair looked back to the menu. "Uh.... whatever you suggest?"
The man smiled and nodded. "Got it. We'll make our special for today. Here's your number. Since your Pokemon will be eating, you need to sit at the outdoor eating area."
Alastair nodded and took the little flag. "Got it. Thank you."
He sat outside and released his team. August yawned and laid down against the wall. Leap laid next to her and closed his eye. Potato yapped and chased his tail before hitting the leg holding the table up. Tuesday laid on the ground, the water that surrounded his under half disappearing back into the pokeball. Baroque clicked her jaw before laying down next to August. Potato soon joined them. It was a massive nap session. All except Ember participated.
"Not sleepy?" he asked the Charmander. Ember snorted and looked away. Alastair sighed.
"Excuse me?" said a young woman. Alastair looked up at her. She was pretty, then again, everyone was pretty. "May I request a battle? I want to train my Meowth."
Alastair looked to the cat and then smiled back at the lady. "Of course, ma'am. But I won't go easy."
"Please don't! I hope to challenge the coliseum at the top of the tower, actually. Any battles will help us learn!" The Meowth meowed in agreement. Alastair moved to stand but flinched. He sunk back into the chair and straightened his hurt leg.
"Um... I'm going to sit here, if that is alright... Ember, head out there."
Ember looked at Alastair and narrowed her eyes, but she did as told.
She stood there and looked to Alastair. He smiled and nodded. Ember blinked. Did... that mean he trusted her to battle her own way? Ember looked back to the cat. If he did then perhaps he wasn't stupid after all. Ember knew how to fight. She always did. She did not need some silly human telling her how to fight.
"Alright, my dear, Bite!" said the woman. Ember dodged the attack and tensed. She let out a battle cry, slowly gathering her rage. Alastair loved the move Dragon Rage. It always made the battle go by a little faster. Ember finished the battle cry, then charged. She readied her claws and then struck the cat hard along the chest with a scratch.
"Screech then Fury Swipes!" said the woman. The Meowth gave a shrill yell at Ember, making her shiver. Then the cat rounded with multiple strikes from his claws. He cut into her skin, but Ember dodged one of two of the harsh scratches. The Charmander rounded with another Scratch, lashing it across the Meowth's face.
The cat gave a cry of pain and fell back. The woman frowned. "Bite!" The Meowth charged and bit into Ember's skin. It got another harsh scratch over the face in response. The cat stumbled back once more. Alastair smiled. The Dragon Rage sure did make Ember hit harder.
The cat rounded one more time with Fury Swipes, scratching Ember up more. The fire lizard responded with one more Scratch. The cat fell.
The woman recalled the feline and thanks Alastair for the battle before bustling along to one of the many Pokemon centers. Alastair smiled at Ember. She narrowed his eyes at him and sat a few feet away from everyone else. But this time, she didn't turn her back.

Ember sat back down in her spot. Alastair eyed her for a few moments and shook his head. No, he needed to leave her be for now. The food came soon anyway. The meal looked delicious, and all his Pokemon seemed to enjoy theirs. Ember even ate, although away from the rest of the group.
Alastair ate in peace, thinking more about what to do with Tuesday than anything else. There was a reason that guy left the Pokemon all alone. Maybe one day Alastair would try to find out why... today was not that day however. It was something to be left for another time.
"Hey!" Alastair looked up. A woman approached him. She put her hands on her hips. "I've been watching you!"
He stared at her. "That's rather creepy."
She shook her head, then pointed at Leap. "No, I mean, I've seen you find all those items. I've been looking everywhere for the crap you got, and I'm finding nothing! So I want your item luck!"
Alastair tilted his head. She must be crazy. "How do you plan to take said luck?"
"By beating you in a battle!"
Alastair sighed. He just wanted to eat his sandwich. He put down the food and looked to his team. August stomped her hoof. She seemed ready to go.
"Knock yourself out," Alastair said to August. She trotted past the woman and out to the open area. Everyone around them began to make a side circle around. August snorted. The girl gave Alastair a look them moved. She released her Pokemon. Alastair stopped mid-bite... what the hell was that thing? It looked like a Rem...raid... something. He focused back on his food. August would be fine.
The fish charged at her and then spat out bubbles. August stepped to the side and then charged. She tackled the fish a few feet back. She shook her fur out. The water surrounding the fish got her wet. She did not like that.
August gave a growl soon after. The fish shivered and then spat out another bubble beam. This one popped all over August's fur, causing a bit of damage. She shook herself, gave another growl, and then charged for another tackle. The fish shook himself off again, and this time used Aurora Beam. The ice type move struck firm, but the ice soon melted off of August's fur. The pony snorted and then charged with another tackle, rounding with a very loud growl right after. The fish shook himself once more, used lock on, and then fired a bubble beam. The move hit home and August stumbled back. She flicked her tail out, snorted, and then charged. The fish dodged her attack and rounded with a Psybeam, hitting her along the side. Her hooves skidded against the tile, leaving marks. The Ponyta snorted one more time, scratched her hoof against the ground, and then charged.
She slammed into the fish with all of her strength, knocking it back and out. August stood there for a few seconds, making sure it wasn't going to get up. She made her way over to Alastair, slowly, and with as slight limp. He rubbed her nose softly and patted her neck. He watched the woman from over August's head. The woman picked up her fish and rushed off to a Pokemon Center. Well... that was an interesting fight. August had decreased some of the damage by using growl so much, but she was worn. Taking those water hits did a real toll. He patted her neck again and went back to his meal. His team was tough. They would be fine after any battle. ...Right?

The meal had filled his stomach to the brim. He had never felt so full! After he thanked the workers and asked them to spread his thanks to the owners. Then, he went towards the shops. He had no idea what he would be buying, or what he wanted, but he knew he wanted... to see if Tuesday could swim. Alastair was hit with the desire so suddenly he came to a stop. Well... there was an indoor pool and lazy river. It might be worth a gander to check out what the Lapras could do. He made a turn and made his way towards the elevator. That was when he came to another stop. His Pokemon had followed him, all looking rather confused. "Oh, right," he said. He recalled them all into their pokeballs except August, and continued on his way. The Ponyta trotted alongside him and got into the elevator without a fuss.
They arrived on the bottom floor and stepped out. The pool should be around here somewhere... Alastair walked to the nearest map and studied it. He wanted the fastest way possible without hurting his leg any. It was looking impossible with the maze this tower was. August watched him study the map. She looked away towards a Torchic nearing her. Ew. Chickens. August gave a snort and stomped a hoof. The chicken kept coming. Then stopped. She spat out some embers at August's hooves. The Ponyta reared back and then charged. She tackled the chicken, sending it rocketing back. The Pokemon was weaker than August, and by quite a bit. The Torchic got up and then charged for a Scratch. August stepped back at the painful attack and then tackled the chicken again.
The Torchic was down.
"Excuse me," said an old man. Alastair looked to him. "It appears your Pokemon has fainted mine..."
Alastair looked back at August. She was standing there as if nothing had happened. The fainted Torchic a few feet away.
"Oh... I'm sorry," said Alastair. The man reached into his pocket and took out his wallet. "Wait, what are you doing?"
"Rules are rules," said the man. "Maybe this will teach my dear Pokemon not to wander off. Have a wonderful day."
Alastair took the money with a mumbled thanks and watched the man leave with his Pokemon. He shot August a glare. She neighed.
